It's a voldemort wins au, the slytherins have this club and they have magical tattoos and piercings, the golden trio are part of an underground organization trying to fight voldemort, they send harry to the club so he can hook up with draco and try and find secrets or have him deflect, the death eaters can't kill harry because voldemort order it (he knows harry is a horcrux) and by the end of it draco gives harry a tattoo so he is connected to draco, voldemort gave him harry as a gift because he is his right hand man or something, does it sound familiar? Drarry fic rec: The Light That is Blinding Me

Title: The Light That is Blinding Me Author: @acciotomriddle Rating: E Word Count: 22,852 Author’s summary: After Flourish and Blotts stop stocking the books of Harry’s favourite author, he is directed to a queer bookshop and discovers it’s owned by none other than Draco Malfoy, who has more in common with Harry than either of them realise.

Thoughts: Bookstores. Draco in glasses. Social commentary. This fic hits a lot of my weak spots, so it was pretty much a guarantee that I would like it. Harry has a huge heart in this fic, and he fills it with his job as a pediatric Healer and with his love of romance novels with fairytale endings. For his part, Draco has wrested control of his life away from his parents, which is also something I always like to see in fics.

The side pairings are a delight, and I would include Harry’s unexpected (to him) friendship with Pansy Parkinson in this category. The banter between the two of them is sharp and witty and really made me wish Pansy was real so I could hang out with her. Except she’d be way to cool for me.

Other highlights: CONSENT. The city of York as a gorgeous backdrop. (Who knew York was such a romantic place to fall in love?) Making out to the strains of Toto’s Africa. Lovely OCs. SO MUCH FLUFF. This story is perfect holiday reading and a nice medium-length WC if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the bounty that is the December Drarry fests (We are Blessed).

May I suggest: It makes me very happy when either Draco or Harry owns/works in a bookstore. Entropy to Ecstasy by @lqtraintracks features Draco as a bookstore owner, but that is secondary to the hot af rimming (and sex more generally) and unbelievable magnetism between our two favorite wizards. Also very effective use of 2nd person POV. So altogether a very different tone from The Light That is Blinding Me, but well worth a read.
