Mighty Gay Bar GG, Appaloosa stallion
Hey let's do the guess my favourite breeds thing like all the other horse blogs
Spotilas Boesgaard (x)
Black near-leopard - E/_ a/a LP/lp PATN1/_
Black spotted blanket (foal) - E/_ a/a LP/lp patn1/patn1
Black leopard (mare) - E/_ a/a LP/lp PATN1/patn1
Sanders Tuche, sport-type Knabstrupper stallion (x)
Black spotted blanket - E/_ a/a LP/lp
Is it a thing for blanket appaloosas to sometimes have a sort of roaning affect all over their coat, looks like a roan but the pattern extends to the face etc or is that just a blanket + RN?. all I can find is info about varnish roans which isn’t it I think.
It is, actually, varnish roan. A horse can be varnish roan and have other patterns on top, including snowcap and spotted blanket. The leopard complex does that.
Varnish roan (x), varnish roan + spotted blanket (x), varnish roan + snowcap (x)
It's totally possible for a horse to be both classic roan (Rn/_) and have a blanket (LP/_), but it's an uncommon combination.
Tabasko, Polish Half-bred (x)
Bay leopard - E/e A/_ LP/lp PATN1/_
Look at this horse i saw today! Am i correct it's a leopard?
Yes! It's a black or bay leopard, the light isn't good enough to tell which. E/_ LP/lp PATN1/_
