The Brick Bakery (part II)

So my son @leorraptor​ made the first part of this post, explaining how he designed a Lego Wedding cake for a fortunate pair of friends of us who had the geekiest wedding ever, and now it is my turn to explain how the product was finished.

He used Lego Digital Designed and the cake included more than 2000 lego pieces, and as a final trial we gave them the pieces to build the cake themselves. Then they returned it to us and we decorated it with geek things they loved.

So appart from the official first set of Lego wedding cake top minifigures, each corner of the cake included one of their favourite things in each layer. Can you guess all the things?

In case you didn’t: from up to down. Apple Macintosh logo, official Disney Maleficent Minifig (with a 2D Mickey Mouse Disney logo), and customized minifigs of Cloud and Sephiroth, over a 2D chocobo.

Top one here can be trickier. I wanted to build Steven Universe’s star, but I ran out of pieces so we made the hand which holds the washmachine and the portal that you can see in the credits of the series. Under the hand, a mix of two official Harry Potter minifigs, and a colorful bunch of pieces which intend to look like Hogwarts coat of arms. And just under it, my favourite couple of customized minifigs: Lupin III and Zenigata, over the dollar symbol because.... well, money’s what he loves best, isn’t it?

This one should be easier if you know the series: Bill Cypher from Gravity Falls!. Then a customized Professor Layton over a question mark, and finally BBC custom Sherlock and Watson (but Watson has Bilbo’s face! That should count as half-official!) over a Sherlock cap, because I wasn’t very inspired about what to do for them.

And last but not least, a 2D Hello Kitty, Custom Frisk minifig from Undertale and the red heart which is his soul, and official Doctor Who’s 11th and 12th minifigs with a tardis brick because again lack of time didn’t let us do much better.

But that’s not the best part.

The best part is the cake CAN BE CUT IN HALF.

And inside of the cake, and separated by a Portal like the ones in the game of the same name, we hid a last surprise for the couple:

The NEW official Lego Wedding couple, a bit customized to look like them...

And the creators of the cake (and friends) wishing them all the best even in minifig shape. Now I want one for my own wedding. Wait... I’m already married am I not?

Saphyra

This female leorraptor has earned that name because of the blue tone of her iris, custom-made to be a rich entrepeneur’s bodyguard, but since hes “owner” passed away shortly after she was born, she started working for the state and so she had to guard her “father’s” favorite son, Alhazar.

She’s sporty, buff, and far more mature than Alhazar. Saphyra’s passions resume to weapons, the bigger “boom” it makes the more she’s into it,she also has some knoledge of programming and piloting, but she also has a lot against the system, she hates the fact that bio-engeneering has divided her species into genetically perfect elites and miserable underevolved townspeople.

I know this isn’t haloween related, but I wanted to draw her since I’m afraid I won’t be able to make her into a MOC and I havn’t had time to do anything else. I really hope you like it.

Alhazar

Finally, 5 years using the nickname “leorraptor” and untill now I hadn’t really shown any specimen of this species...

Yes, that’s why the first letter wasn’t in caps, the leorraptors were traders but after a war with a fanatic group they nearly became extinct so the next generations were genetically designed to be perfect... and deadly.

So here we have Alhazar, the first “genetically perfect” leorraptor. He’s not the smartest, nor the strongest, nor the bravest, but he still has an ego the size of a gas giant, mainly because he’s the favorite of his “dad” and because his DNA is in every other newly born leorraptor.

This was my second MOC, I had been drawing this character for a long time and I had to make him a phisical thing, There was a previous version without shoulder articulation , which is a bit finicky, but I keep no record, probably I’ll keep updating his torso. By the way, since he’s completly organic he’s suposedly naked in all the fotos (Gladly he’s LEGO and it doesn’t make it sexual) so I used some YoSD clothes as placeholders untill I make some custom clothes.

I believe he doesn’t like the shirt...

This is my entry for the BAS Weekly Challenge number 49: Movie Scene Recreation. A bit crappy but I haven’t drawn in almost two years, and also I didn’t have as a custom uploading them, but it had to be done.(Sorry for the swears).
