Yin-Yang was on the island of Paradise, sitting cross-legged in the grass alongside their teammate, Candle. Having successfully made it through the ‘Try Not to Laugh’ challenge earlier that day, their team was safe from elimination, allowing them some time away from the competition.
“Good job out there today, Yin-Yang.” Candle commented, turning to face them. “You did a wonderful job mindfully positioning your energy.”
“Oh, we can’t take all the credit! We would never have made it this far without your help.” Yin insisted.
Candle smiled. “You know, I actually had an idea for an exercise we could try based off of today. That is, if you’re willing to indulge me.”
“As long as it means that we keep winning, we are up for anything!” Yang proclaimed, raising the body’s arms.
Candle chuckled. “Alright then.”
Shimmying closer to Yin-Yang, Candle moved until she was sitting directly in front of them. They silently watched her, slightly confused.
Raising her right hand, Candle reached forward and lightly pinched the predominantly-white side of Yin-Yang. An audible squeak came from Yin.
“C-Candle? What are you…” Yin trailed off, watching as Candle brought her left hand over to the body’s other side and poised it over the white section. Candle then looked Yin-Yang directly in the eyes, her gaze being met, before gently fluttering the fingers of both hands against the light-coloured surface.
Yin broke out into giggles, drawing the body’s limbs in towards its centre.
“Ehehehehe! Cahahandle?!”
“You know what you need to do, Yin.” Candle stated calmly, continuing the fluttering motion.
A look of recognition flashed across the lighter half. Yin-Yang’s eyes closed.
-ching-
The body’s eyes opened, both now white in colour, indicating that Yang had taken full control. His giggles filled the air.
“Yohou cahannot dehefeat Yahang so eheasily!” Yang asserted, crossing the body’s arms.
“Oh? Is that so?” Candle smirked. Slowly, she crept her hands up the round figure, halting when she felt Yang flinch as contact was made with the body’s ribs. Shaping her hands into claws, Candle roughly scribbled over the area.
“WahaHAIT-! NOHO DOHOHON’T! AHAHAHA!” Yang laughed out as he fell backwards, arms waving wildly.
“You can make it stop at any time.” Candle reminded him, continuing to scribble.
Yang thrashed around on the ground for another moment before going still.
-ching-
Yin, now in control, immediately curled up into a ball. His giggles could be heard once more.
“Nohoho! I dohon’t wahant to behe bahahack!”
Candle chuckled. Spying Yin lightly kicking the body’s legs, she slowed her hands to a stop. Yin uncurled the body’s limbs, focusing on breathing during the reprieve.
Candle moved forward, situating herself on the body’s legs so that she was facing away from Yin. Reaching down, she began to scratch away at his soles.
“Eep-! CahAHANDLE! AHAHAHA!” Yin laughed, pulling his arms back close to the body. He lightly pulled at the legs, but Candle’s weight kept them in place.
After a moment of squirming around, Yin went still.
-ching-
Candle heard Yin’s voice disappear and continued to scratch away, but no other voice came to replace it.
Feeling a small rise of fear, she began to turn around.
“Yang?”
As Candle was turning, however, she was suddenly rammed in the side. She fell off of the body’s legs and onto the ground. Glancing up, she could see that Yang had indeed assumed control and subsequently knocked her off by body-chucking her.
“Oh Candle~!” Yang sang out as he stood, now making his way over to her.
Candle acted quickly, rising to her feet. Yang lunged at her once in reach, but she darted to the side, stuffing her hands under his arms from behind. She swiftly skittered her fingers against the surface.
The black-and-white body’s knees buckled before Yang fell backwards into Candle, cackling.
“AHAHAHA! OHOKAY! OHOKAY YOHOHOU WIHIHIN!”
Figuring she had tormented the pair enough, Candle slowly brought her fingers to a stop. She helped pull Yang back up.
-ching-
Slightly dizzy, Yin-Yang stood on the grass, now back to their regular state of dual-control.
“Thanks for putting up a resistance, Yang. I may have gotten a bit carried away.” Candle admitted, rubbing the back of her head.
“It’s alright, Candle! We trust you! Yang usually attacks anyone who even tries to tickle us.”
“They had it coming.” Yang remarked. “Besides, I could have easily endured it for much longer! My desire for revenge is just too strong to not retaliate.”
Yin gave a small smile. “Maybe don’t encourage her…”
Candle chuckled. “Well, you two did a good job of handing over control to one another. You’re taking a step in the right direction.”
“The direction of victory!” Yang cheered.
“We should probably go find the others.” Candle noted, looking around. “It would be wise to discuss our plan moving forward.”
Yin-Yang nodded, following behind Candle as she headed off to locate the rest of their team. While she could definitely be unconventional at times, Yin-Yang had full faith in Candle and her methods, trusting that she always had their best interests at heart.
