les misérables 1952 final review: well... at the very least this movie gave the impression that they read the book. i'll give it that, and also i'll give it kudos for giving jean valjean a husband who was all things considered, pretty awesome. otherwise. it was bad. half the movie was spent on the first book, so there was hardly any time for any of the rest of the plots, making it rushed and messy the second they left m-sur-m (though i think it was called something else in this movie? they said it once and very indistinctly). they screwed up basically every emotional arc. but. at least there was robert.
