4 reasons to spoil your mum for mother’s day

LeSalon gives a little reminder to the most ungrateful of you that might have forgotten:

1. She gave birth to you. And doesn’t blame you for the stretch marks you left on her belly, the baby fat she can’t get rid of even after years of Pilates, not to mention the width of her hips that will never go back to normal after your delivery.

2. She worked her butt off for you without ever asking for a wage. And you know she would never quit, even if you made her sign a golden parachute clause worth billions.

3. She transmitted her beauty genes to you. So next time a moron harasses you with cheesy pick up lines such as “You really shouldn’t wear makeup, you’re messing with perfection” or “You’re so beautiful you made me forget my pick up lines”, don’t forget that what he indirectly means is “Congratulations to your Mum” (btw. appeal to all men who read this: this is actually a great pick up line).

4. She loves you. Unconditionally. Even during puberty, when you were covered with acne, wearing braces and snapping at her whenever you were angry (which was probably 99% of the time). Isn’t that reason enough?

So now go get your mum the big fat treat she deserves. Move it!

Le Salon has come up with some “me-myself-and-I” treats that you have to try – and trust me, these get even more exhilarating when actually experienced on Valentine’s Day:

The “Wrapped Couch Potato” Treat

This treat involves wrapping, as it enhances the skin’s absorption of nutrients and moisture.

Head: wisk one egg with half a cup of argan oil, massage in from scalp to the ends of the hair and cover with some plastic wrap.

Knees, feet and hands: take your favourite body lotion, add a few drops of argan oil, massage in and wrap it all in plastic.

Put on your robe, grab your remote and watch your favourite series. One season of Sex and the City is about the right amount of time you need to get all the benefits from the treatment.

So soothing. So satisfying.

The “Lose Yourself” aromatherapy

Face: All you need is some hot water in which you’ll add a few drops of eucalyptus oil. Place your head over the bowl with a towel over your head to trap the steam and inhale. Great for both skin and soul.

Body: Add 12 drops of patchouli essential oil and one cup of almond oil to your bath. Don’t forget your alarm, you might as well just fall asleep in it.

Chill music on and you’re good to go. To freakin’ Nirvana.

An evening with THE OUTNET

On Thursday 29th of January we joined THE OUTNET for an evening of summer staples, cocktails and canapés at the Net-A-Porter HQ.

Invited were our favourite bloggers, stylists and journalists all keen to preview and browse the latest collection from Iris and Ink.

The collection sure didn’t disappoint, boasting soft pastel prints, laser cut detailing and peplum dresses, perfect for the upcoming wedding season. 

And if attendees were not browsing the rails, they were sipping cocktails, taking snap shots in the photo booth or of course enjoying a LeSalon manicure. 

Our technicians were on hand to offer exclusive Iris and Ink manicures. Each design replicating a print or colour within the collection. The most popular being the animal print. 

And just as we thought the evening was coming to an end, Laurel Arnell-Cullen (Otherwise known by Vogue as ‘The New Face of British Alt Pop’) took centre stage and spoilt the attendee’s to a couple of tracks from her latest album. We welcome our new nail technicians!

Guy Fawkes Night may have been and gone but we're still looking to the stars as we expand our core beauty team this November. We've welcomed on board four new nail technicians who have a wealth of experience under their belts - they really are the best of the rest, each dedicated to their craft and collectively championing LeSalon's premium beauty services.

Last week we held a special meeting for them in the presence of our COO, Natasha Pilbrow, who outlined LeSalon's vision and the emphasis that we place on excellent customer service. Natasha is BIG on great looking hands and nails, as you can see from how expressively she uses them!

The breakfast was also an opportunity for our new nail experts to ask questions and familiarise themselves with our professional handbook. They also picked up their brand new LeSalon kit complete with Essie varnishes, streamlined and stylish just like our unique booking app.
