Hi Becky! Could you make a video about lesbian sex protection? Sex ed teaches all about condoms, but I never heard anything related to STD prevention in lesbian sex... I never had sex and I'm a little concerned about that. I wanna have safe sex!

So can I ask for an opinion and possibly some advice? I'm a cis lesbian, and while I definitely could be attracted to a trans woman romantically, I don't think I could ever be involved sexually with her pre-op. I have a history of trauma, and 'male' genitals are a huge trigger for me. Am I a "gold star lesbian?" I really don't want to be exclusionary, and I feel awful for this. I understand that trans women are real women, but I just can't shake this discomfort. I'm sorry, I feel bad for asking.

I don’t see what the issue or question is here, which is a good thing! The way you have described our situation and reasoning makes perfect sense to me and I don’t see how anyone would have an issue with it. You are not being transphobic by saying you would not be able to date someone who has male genitalia. It is not your fault you were traumatized and it is not your fault that male private parts are triggering for you. In fact, I am very happy you realize that and know yourself well enough to know it would not be a good idea. If you were to get in bed with a transgendered woman and realize she has genitalia that may resemble that of a male it could cause a negative reaction in your and make them feel bad as a result. By being clear and knowing what you can or can’t handle you are saving yourself as well as any transgendered woman from a traumatic experience. With that being said, you could always be friends with transgendered women. It doesn’t make you a bad person or anything of that sort. 

As of the gold star thing.. I have issues with that label. haha Here is a video where I talk more in depth about the subject.  Being a gold star lesbian is a label that has been given to lesbians who have never had experiences with a man. Some people consider kissing to be part of it and others dedicated the label to lesbians who have not have sex with men (whatever their definition of sex is). Whether that make you one or not, in my opinion it is irrelevant. You are you and that is all that matters. :)

I also made a video on my channel about sexual molestation and how to go about having sex afterwards. You did mention trauma so I thought I would mention the video in case it is something that may interest you. Please know that this is not about you forcing yourself to have sex with transgendered women. If you know that will be something triggering and traumatic do not subject yourself to further trauma. It is all about knowing your boundaries and drawing limits. Here is the video for that.
