(more) drew tanaka headcanons

a second part of this post, focusing on drew’s gayscapades 

drew realized she was a lesbian when she was sixteen, but was resistant to the idea, insisting she was actually straight and that no girl could be romantically or sexually attractive to her ever. 

it didnt help that she had never had a crush before, on a girl or a guy. she found this especially problematic, as she had previously had sexual thoughts about girls and because she liked the way they looked better. liked the shape of their bodies and the fullness of their lips. for awhile, she convinced herself that it was all envy, that it was just because she wanted to look like that, but eventually she had to admit the truth. she found girls attractive and she didn’t find guys attractive - at all, really. 

she has these shirts 

about a year later, she found the label ‘aromantic’ and she quickly grew attached to it. she knew she would never “fall in love” the way she was expected to as a daughter of aphrodite and she also realized that was okay. 

she and nyssa ended up in a qpr for about a year and a half but broke up because they decided they were going in different directions in life. nyssa was going to be staying at chb and helping them build new athens and drew wanted to get away from the demigod life in general, especially since she had a place at julliard. 

while at julliard, drew didn’t really do relationships. she didn’t want to endanger a mortal, plus she hated coming out to people, so she just avoided them and focused on becoming the best in her field. 

while there, she did become close with somebody though. at first she thought they were a mortal, but they ended up being a child of terpsichore, the muse of dance. their name was erin and they were a dance major (which made sense when you factored in their mother). 

drew and erin hooked up exactly one time before deciding it wasn’t for them and becoming best friends. 

it took drew about a year after graduation to go back to chb, where she met reyna for the first time and immediately was like,,,holy shit. 

because lbr this woman was ridiculously gorgeous and smart and elegant and just holy shit!! if drew fell in love she’d definitely fall in love with reyna. she kind of wanted them to be best friends who sometimes hook up. 

long story short: they become best friends who sometimes hook up and also live together. 

so, again, i’m gonna stop here before it gets to be too much. hmu if you want anymore drew headcanons or if you want headcanons for any character/ship in the riordanverse (except straight ships sorry)!
