I've been sick for a couple of days and woke up to scroll on tiktok and found a video of a lesbian saying she feels like such a male centered lesbian bc she mostly consumes mlm media and then proceeds to complain that most sapphic media is mid or tragic or canceled and the last 2 of those complaints are real and valid but the use of 'mid' for the first one already left me with a bad taste in my mouth ( I know what they meant but that's the word non sapphic use for sapphic media so hearing a lesbian say it felt like a punch in the gut ) and when I opened the comments everything got so much worse ( if you've ever came across this discourse on tiktok or even twitter yk what I'm talking about ) and I just starting crying. Usually I get annoyed and angry then scroll with an eyeroll but I'm just getting so tired of this shit and I'm senstive bc of being sick that I just started sobbing. I'm tired of people using lesbians and sapphics complaining about their lack of rep and/or bad rep as an excuse to not watch sapphic media at all. I'm tired of lesbians and sapphics themselves using the same excuse to be male centered. I'm tired of reading these comments and fake 'woke' statements knowing these people are never gonna see us the same as gay man. I'm so so tired of this all. It's becoming mentally draining to be a lesbian online.
