i’m gonna piggyback off of this and talk about lesbianism and masculinity as a whole

i genuinely feel like people have a problem with masculinity when it’s not done in the way they like and it’s become so watered down it’s almost redundant

seeing “soft masc” and “girl in boy clothes” and just a general perception of oh i’m still a girl so i should be treated as such and that’s the only way to be a masc lesbian when there are so many people who do not feel like that and their masculinity is being invalidated

i said paige likes more masculine things and got immediately retaliation when what i said was in fact true! she does like feminine things yes but i feel like every time i bring up her masculinity it’s taken as an attack on her and being a woman when i think it’s clear she’s obviously much more comfortable in more “traditionally masculine” attire imo a lot of her feminine influence is seen in casual wear and i think it’s a lot like sue where she has a fem elements but the overall is masculine

there is nothing wrong with masculinity but when it becomes watered down and you add all these adjectives to it, the word loses its meaning like there are lesbians who like masculine things and that “traditional male role” and there’s like an increased amount of people who look down on them

there’s no one way to be masculine the issue comes from your way being the only way and that’s when we start becoming invalidating and honestly i pray for paige if she ever gets more into her masc bag because the pushback that would come is so obvious and it’s so saddening to see

i also think there’s definitely a racial element to this because i’ve noticed a lot of the new fans dgaf about any of the masc black players but love the masc white players and i beg us to look at our internalized racism because they’re two sides of the same coin and
