sorry saw your tags on the vernestra art and i have to jump into action. i’d recommend making the jump into all high republic books genuinely, they’re fantastic and just going by release order is fine (check out youtini for a good reading guide), but if that’s too daunting and you just want vernestra content (which is fair, she’s my thr fave) i’d start with “a test of courage,” it’s one of the early thr books so it’s easy to jump into, it’s her first big appearance and gives you all the context you need for her character at that point. it’s also a pretty short YA book.

she appears in more minor roles in some other stuff along the way, but for the biggest moments for her story will go on to be “out of the shadows” and “mission to disaster” which are also both shorter ya books, so easy reads. i know her most recent big appearance is in “defy the storm” but im behind on thr and haven’t read it yet, so i can’t say much about that one

anyway, vernestra is a GREAT character and i will always spread the Word of Rwoh
