8 Web Series Romances to Swoon Over

Valentine's Day is upon us and whether you have someone special to share it with or not, you can sidle up to some of these web series romances out there. Check them out below and tweet us your favorite!

Laura and Carmilla (Hollstein) -- Carmilla

What is probably the most followed web series romance of all time, Hollstein broke their own hearts and the hearts of every single Creampuff. Their romance has everything. Literally, anything you can think of. Evil Dean? Check. Hot vampire? Check. Over-protective father? Check. Slow burn? Check. Angst? Check. Lady kisses? Double check. With three full seasons and a FEATURE FILM in the works, there's just so much to love.

Leslie and Alex (Leslex) -- The Leslie

I know, I know, we were all left hanging after season one's cliffhanger when Spaghetti Jen decided to be spaghetti (eye roll) but what audiences remember most from this LA LGBTQ web series was Leslie and Alex. While Leslie struggled to find a girlfriend after newly coming out, she couldn't see what was right in front of her, her very cute and very much available neighbor, Alex. Check out their painstakingly slow semi-romance bud to life.

Bea and Ben (Beadick) -- Nothing Much to Do

This New Zealand web series did not fail to deliver in the romance department. A modern telling of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, audiences get a multi-vlog series featuring the lead characters. When it comes to Beadick there really isn't any holding back. It's your typical, "I hate her," and "He's so annoying," shpeal but boy is it fun to see unfold. Don't believe me? See what everyone else but Bea and Ben can see, for yourself. 

Desmond and Othello (Desthello) -- The Soliloquies of Santiago

How can I even begin to describe Desthello? Cute as fuck comes to mind, but also real. The chemistry between Des and Othello is that of pure passion. Whether they're dealing with scandal, a devious Iago or defending each other's sexuality, the couple perseveres against all unthinkable odds. Catch the entire first season today and fall in love with them over and over again, the way Shakespeare intended it to be.

Joan and Meg (Joan of March) -- March Family Letters

Another crowd pleaser and ridiculously sappy romances in web series of all time is that of Joan and Meg from Cherrydale Productions and Pemberley Digital. We get an awesome modern adaption of Little Women, featuring a strong female cast and an unexpected romance (sometimes called Moan) between Meg and Joan. The series was written to perfection and delivered such a realistic storyline between the two that you'll have yourself "aww-ing" at the screen and shooting hearteyes at both of them. 

Lizzie and Darcy -- The Lizzie Bennet Diaries

We'd be idiots if this adorable couple didn't make our list. The web series that honestly set the bar for web series is still talked about today and beloved by many. Tales as old as time, a friendship out of convenience, denial of attraction, flirtation, more denial of attraction and finally acceptance. Climb aboard (or reboard, whatever) the good ship that is Lizzie and Darcy and prepare to swoon.

Dorothy and Connie (Dornie) -- All For One

The slow burn between Dornie is TOO REAL. I mean, it is sloooooooooow but for fuck's sake, it's worth the wait. I don't know what it is about literary web series that make romances that much more relatable, but I'll take a modern day Three Musketeers featuring diverse women, any day. Their love story is pretty great, girl meets girl, they're roommates, girl tries to kiss girl, other girl freaks out because she has a girlfriend...Say what? See what all the fun's about yourself!

Peter and Wendy (Darling Pan) -- The New Adventures of Peter & Wendy

I'm not going to lie, when I was younger and watched Peter Pan I totally loved seeing Peter and Wendy together. So imagine my surprise when I came across this series a few months back. Soon to be entering its third season, audiences can expect so much more from the couple dubbed Darling Pan. They're goofy, they're cute, they're the perfect balance for each other, even when things get a bit rocky. Sprinkle some pixie dust, prepare to fly and join Peter and Wendy on their adventures in Neverland...Ohio. Neverland, Ohio.

In the years since he'd gotten a mechanical body, Alexander has gotten used to waking up in the middle of the night for one uncomfortable reason or the other. Sometimes it's nightmares, memories of the past haunting him to sleeplessness. Other times he wakes up uncomfortable because the metal parts of him are making the rest of his body too cold. Usually, he'd go and take a short walk and by then he'd have enough blood rushing through his veins that he could fall asleep again. 

But this time Alexander wakes up feeling comfortably warm. Both in temperature and feelings. It was so comfortable, so cozy that he almost fell asleep again immediately after.

He opened his eyes again to be greeted with the sight of Lester fast asleep, arms curled around him and legs entangled with his legs underneath the sheets. He smiles, almost a reflex at this point, he thinks, when it's about Lester. Alexander brushes wavy locks of hair from Lester's freckled cheeks, observes as the rest of his long hair rises and falls with his quiet breathing. Then, it finally registers to Alexander that neither of them were wearing any article of clothing underneath the blankets.

Ah. He flushes involuntarily as he remembers vague flashes of what had transpired a few hours ago. 

Alexander looks at Lester sleeping peacefully on the bed. Their bed. After the luxury of being with Lester for the past year or so now, Alexander didn't know how his past self managed sleeping alone all those years ago. Now, every time he wakes up he gets kisses from a handsome man with his freckles looking like constellations whenever he smiles.

He truly, really loves Lester. Eight years ago, he didn't think he'd be able to say these words. Didn't think he even had the capacity to feel in a romantic way, much less this intimately with anyone. Indeed, for the first few weeks of their relationship, there was a time where it felt odd coming out of his mouth. Odd, but right. Alexander doesn't think that anyone else would make him feel this way other than him. 

I mean, six years? Whose love would endure that long? Honestly, he wouldn't blame them if they left to pursue someone else.

But he did. Lester stayed. 

Whatever goodness it is in him that Lester saw, Alexander doesn't know. But as the days go on, He's more and more inclined to believe that he's worth sticking around for.

Alexander leaned over the love of his life to kiss his forehead. He would do anything for this man if it meant he'd be happy with him. He settled back under the covers and held Lester closer to him and soon fell back asleep again.

Arteley: insists there's something more in Artemisia's scenes with Langley. has a rivalry with Langster for Funniest Shipname. Chosen Lester AU Enjoyers because they actually get together here. you are also an advocate for Men👏Getting👏Pegged👏

Morrihope: Everybody Lives No One Dies AU #1 Fan. If you ship Morrihope you're either a Morrigan diehard fan or a Hope diehard fan. fionna and marshall lee was your childhood ship.

Dyrigan: Like Morrihope, Everybody Lives No One Dies AU #1 Fan. Except you are also the LGBT community and you love your angst. gumball and marshall lee was your childhood ship.

Mirihope: Toxic Yuri 2 Electric Boogaloo. I can fix her x I can make her worse. you saw that fight scene between them and decided they should make out.

Magward: proponents of the "Edward joins the Gangley AU" insists these two spent more time after the trial in Desmontis. Angst bastards #2, if you ship Magward you probably also ship Langlex because you love that layer of ✨generational yearning angst ✨

Alysiam: a LOT of Desmontis-focused post Act 2. or post-dechliant content. Miriam redemption arc truthers. you guys saw looked at langlex and decided no, artephelia wasn't enough we need more toxic yuri in this house. respect!

Alexela: the crack ship of all time. the don't even interact in canon, but that's not stopping you. Royalty AUs where Alex Evergreen gets to meet Alex Lockhart. you ship this because you thought the shipname was funny and actually got invested once you read through Act 3 and saw how involved the clavarian military is in the plot.

Ignarthur: YEARNING, so much yearning. SO MUCH ANGST... you craved for angstier toxic old man yaoi slow burn and you will get it. in your heart of hearts ignatius rescued arthur and they're both living off the grid now.

Arthurora: That one raggedy looking pony and his wife meme. Either a fix-it rewrite enjoyer or angst enjoyer. who needs marriage counselling when you can fix their marriage and prevent 90% of Act 3's events by your own hands.

Artlexy: power couple dynamic enjoyer. you started with "haha! guys ophelia's brother has the same name as alex! artlexy is artlex if alexander wasn't gay!" but when the post-dechliant content hit and alexandre and artemisia Actually Interacted it was no longer a joke ship, was it?
