Summer reading aesthetic goals by @less-than-one
Story time: I had to study for my cardiology exam all week and couldn’t go to the Maggie Stiefvater event, so my sister had to go alone even though we usually go to these things together. @less-than-one, being the amazingly thoughtful person she is, got me a copy of The Raven King and told @maggie-stiefvater about me and asked her to write something. Today after my exam she surprised me with this inspiringly inscribed gift. ❤

The ultimate book art
Not only is less-than-one a fellow bibliophile, she’s an awesome artist! Thank you for making me this :)
Hi, I'm Rachel and my favorite book is George Orwell's 1984 :)
Wow hi Rachel I’ve never met you before jk you goon with a 1984-level of awesome all the time
To all my followers: message me with something about yourself and/or your favorite book/author so I can get to know a little about you!
Happy holidays!! Your ava's demon gift is on my blog, hope you like it :)))
Oh my god It’s awesome dude! I love it!
Barbara Gordon is my favorite batkid! I love how she's incredible as batgirl and leaves a huge legacy, but is also awe-inspiring as Oracle afterwards too. She's very empowering and is one of the most famous Batgirls for a reason :) Hope that was a good enough reason!
I got two asking for my beautiful warrior goddess queen, so I’m going in different directions for each. This one is a little louder.
Barbara Gordon
Yellow Flicker Beat – Lorde: I picked this one because I thought of Barbara immediately when I heard it. Barbara had to grow up real fast, what with her brother and her parent’s divorce – so the idea of being “a princess cut from marble” is appealing to her. This song, to me, is about a girl not taking anyone’s shit – and that’s got Babs written all over it.
Papercut – Linkin Park: This is a song that flows through you’re veins. For as wonderful and brilliant as Barbara is, I think she doubts herself sometimes – but even that she does with a particular type of strength. She’s strong, this song is like saying “yeah, I’m messed up, but so are you.” This, to me, is a song to say “I’m messed up, but I got this.”
3 Small Words - Josie & the Pussycats: I know, I know, just trust me on this one. I feel like Barbara would have seen the movie (it came out 2001) because she used to watch the cartoon. I picked this song for her because of the opening, really, so just try it. I think this is the song Barbara would be almost embarrassed to have, almost. I think she likes the drum solos and the song puts a smile on her face.
Highway to Hell – P!nk (cover): I feel like Ol’ Jim Gordon might have been an AC/DC fan in his time so Barbara grew up listening to classic rock. I picked the P!nk cover for the song because I think Barbara would be a fan of P!nk.
