Hi! So the title didn’t look familiar, I looked it up. I haven’t read it but it’s also part of a fandom I’m just not into anymore (and never that pairing). Unless I’m looking at the wrong fic. There might be a few fics under this same name. But I love that you even considered to rec me anything.

Not knowing what else you've read—if you want something a little lighter / escapist but that aligns with your current reads, you should take a peek at Becky Chamber's entire catalog, EVERY HEART A DOORWAY by Seanan McGuire, and THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE THE TIME WAR by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. All v queer / inclusive, on the shorter + faster side, delicious yet thoughtful weekend reads to gobble up. (And for reads a little longer / darker but up your alley, try THE UNSPOKEN NAME—lesbian orc adventure—and THE JASMINE THRONE!)

firstly, thank you so much! this is so sweet. i have read the first six novellas in seanan mcguire's series, with mixed results, but i definitely liked most of them! i tried reading this is how you lose the time war at some point and couldn't get into it, but i see so much love for it that i feel like i may need to try again? as for the other ones, all great suggestions that i've vaguely heard off before but will definitely give a try soon. the unspoken name especially looks very intriguing 👀 thank you!

ahh that's very sweet!! i think i'm in the mood for medium to fast paced scifi or fantasy? something that's very escapist but doesn't require too much brain power because i need that for other things atm? some of my favorite sff books are the poppy war series by r.f. kuang, she who became the sun by shelley parker-chan, winter's orbit by everina maxwell and the first sister series by linden a. lewis if that helps.

Try ROSES AND ROT by Kat Howard or EVERY HEART A DOORWAY by Seanan McGuire, two recent titles I ADORED. For older books, DAUGHTER OF THE EMPIRE by Janny Wurts and Raymond E. Feist or N.K. Jemisin's The Inheritence trilogy. And anything by Victoria / V.E. Schwab, of course.
