really sorry for the sudden disappearance! i haven’t logged in to tumblr for a while since i’ve been distracted by other things.. </3

i might start posting monkey identification again if i start being more active again but primate of the day will probably be coming to an early end unfortunately since i kept stressing over it :< i’m sure i’ll be able to make up for it eventually though!

I made a list of apes (plus bonus macaque) and a list of themes and rolled a D6 for each.

can you explain why siamangs have the weird frog-like bubble on their throat?

To amplify their calls! Siamangs live in densely wooded areas so without visual cues they need to be able to communicate with their mates or nearby couples sometimes miles away.

Cheek-padded male orangutans also have a throat sac for the same purpose but it doesn't inflate as dramatically.
