I can't be the only one who immediately thought The Chimp Who Wants To Drown You
Funny Monkeys
haven’t rlly drawn much this year so far. anyways.
funny monkey sketches ft a ted cruz tweet cited in a falun gong propaganda book i tore up
I think it’d be really funny if every time Sun Wukong visited the mortal realm without a human disguise, people would stop what they’re doing and start focusing on him.
Not in a creepy way of course, but more in a “Oh my gosh it’s him!” And also, “Oh my gosh it’s a monkey?!” Like they LOVE him and are his adoring fans.
At first, Wukong is afraid he’s scaring them (PTSD from the journey).
But then later he finds out that a video of him eating noodles blew up to over 1B views and with 100+ Million likes. And everyone online has a fan club devoted to defending his honor.
Right now, the amount of videos where a monkey is just eating and being themselves and the video gains thousand of likes easily is really funny to me. Effortlessly lovable.
Anyways, for reference this does happen to Wukong when he first entered human civilization. But not in such a positive light:
Here’s him in his cute little green gown XD
And the people laugh at him and find him hilarious some even calling him “monster monkey.” Which isn’t the best name to call him…
Here they are following him around to a shop after he tries to get away (cause the attention was uncomfortable) :(
Here’s him stealing some shoes (after he already stole a hat). The shopkeeper doesn’t even notice later and assumed that the crowd mistook a cat for a monster
Here’s the next scene with him eating “human” food for the first time. The noodles I mentioned. He doesn’t know how to use chopsticks and finds the noodles strange. 😂
Returning to Monkie by eating with his hands
The old man in the shop is his first fan and finds him hilarious to watch (hence my idea that in the modern world, this is how everybody will act when they see him). :)
Bonus: the restaurant waiter isn’t even mad that Wukong scared away the rest of his customers. He’s delighted to watch this strange, hairy “man” struggling to eat food and tries to hold in his laughter.
Anyways, this was a 1986 Sun Wukong appreciation post. Excuse my bad English if so. I just love this show and everyone should watch it.
