Weathering out last week’s typhoon from Kumamoto. The hotel prepared sandwiches, tea, biscuits, and jellies for everyone, but we didn’t expect anything and had already done our apocalypse shopping in the last minutes before even the convenience stores closed. (Biggest typhoon in 30 years!) It turned out to be way too much food and drink, BUT we did end up stuck there for three nights, as every train on the island (seven prefectures!) was stopped for two full days, so everything got finished in the end!
