AIO? Neighbors using our driveway while we are away…
Hi Reddit, So we bought home. We are new to this HOA community. We haven’t officially moved in due to getting the house prepped/fixed and getting contractors in and out to do jobs. Yesterday while we were out the neighbor decided to use our “L” shaped driveway as their own. No notice to us. And left their car on our property for a while.
Some context. we haven’t spoken to these people officially, besides me and my partner trying to waving hello, and verbally saying hello and received no feedback. We aren’t trying to create animosity between us and these specific neighbors but what should we do in this situation if you were us?
Update: Thank you all for the input, I've taken into consideration a lot of your thoughts, accusations, positive and negative etc, etc. Many of you are ok with it and have established some neighborly relationship before hand and that says a lot. Fair enough. (But I have not and don't know them despite the atempts and don't feel like continuing to knock on a wall) Others say to have people/strangers on your property without permission is not ok and not mention the liability for many reasons is fair too. conclusion is that it really depends on the people next to you and they can be like each and everyone of you on here with different opinions of what is ok or not ok. since they are avoidant with us I'm gonna continue my move and document any other incidents after letting them know where we stand when and if it happens again. Well Hope this didn't trigger you all enough to ruin your night. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT 4Th and if your not from the states. Have a great weekend. Good night.
Reddit consensus: MIXED (no clear verdict)
