1. WHAT IS THEIR NAME? DO THEY GO BY THE SAME NAME THEY DID PRE-WAR?
He goes by Oliver Darzi both before and after the war. Nicknames are a foreign concept to him, so he’ll just blink confusedly at you if you try anything.
2. WHAT WAS THEIR RELATIONSHIP LIKE WITH THEIR SPOUSE?
Oliver’s never been in a romantic relationship before - DOES NOT COMPUTE - but he’s the type of guy who’s accidentally overfed his fish to death, if you know what I mean.
3. WHAT ARE OTHER PEOPLE LIKELY TO NOTICE ABOUT HIM FIRST?
His discomfort. He’s programmed to think that people are out to get him in one way or another, and while he’s improving on controlling his paranoia for the most part, it doesn’t mean that his weariness and discomfort around others isn’t apparent. Hands in pocket, tapping fingers, jaw ticks, shifting around - all those telltale signs that he doesn’t want to be there.
4. ARE THEY EXTROVERTED OR INTROVERTED?
Introverted, hands down. Oliver’s really not a people person, though if you steer him towards the right topics you might be able to get more out of him.
I’d imagine he has a really irregular rhythm when he speaks - there’s awkward spacing in between his words when he’s trying to think of what to say, and when he does have something, it comes out in jumbles. Stutters and pauses are both common for Oliver. He has a fairly deep voice, though sometimes it gets a bit grated or dull-sounding from unuse.
6. DESCRIBE THEIR MOST FOND PRE-WAR MEMORY.
Oh boy. I think his most fond memory is when his mom came home - she had left him and his father when he was born and didn’t return until he was four. Granted, he was a child and didn’t really think or hurt much from her absence, but that moment - that moment of a woman walking into his home with a smile like his, looking down on him like he was everything good in this world, saying, “I’m sorry - I’m home now and I won’t ever leave you again” - god, that flicker of a memory is the only happy thing he has.
Of course, after those first few precious moments, everything just goes downhill.
Smile? Oliver’s not really good at that - I mean, he tries every now and then for the sake of attempting to be friendly at Princeton so that the Governor won’t toss him out for being dead weight, but god knows Oliver gives up on it halfway. Those ones are always clumsy and forced, really only smiling because he’s certain that’s probably the socially acceptable thing to do - though his might be an exception. [just stop Oliver, dear lord it’s painful to watch]
His real smile though - he’s got these little crinkles around his eyes and his mouth stretches so widely and there’s an unadulterated feeling to it - but good luck getting that one out of him.
8. DESCRIBE THEIR OVERALL APPEARANCE.
He’s not particularly big or small - he’s got a wiry build that he often hides under baggy clothing, even before the apocalypse. Wide eyes that are ringed with hints of red and hung low with eyebags - he’s not really one for sleeping - and tanned skin with hair that’s starting to curl and wave as it grows out. He’s more scruffy than anything, not so much covered in blood as he is in dirt. And a jawline that could give me a paper cut just looking at it
9. WHAT WERE THEIR HOBBIES PRE-WAR?
Oliver was definitely what you would call a homebody - he didn’t have hobbies so much as he had a routine of life. He neither liked nor disliked his way of living, it just was - it just what had to be for him. He was the tech help on the other side of the computer, the dry jokes in the chat rooms; he took things apart and built them up again, rebuilt them better; he learned how things worked and how to find loopholes and shortcuts and cheats in technology.
Oh, well, he likes his meds. Rather fondly.
10. WHAT IS THEIR WEAPON OF CHOICE?
Oliver’s really not the type to fight - he’s got enough personal battles to deal with without the whole apocalypse barging down his door. He’s really a throw-and-run guy; whatever’s around him is going to chucked at his perpetrators and then he’s hightailing it out of there.
he just happens to have bad aim and even worse coordination jfc Oliver get your shit together
