Like this duo make no sense no it’s not an enemy to lover or something else they just really don’t like each other but they have some friends in common ( Alex and Lando ) that’s all, It’s the only thing that binds them a little ( + Toto who wants to replace George with Max it’s binds them too but that’s all )

Rest assured that I have absolutely zero plans to get aboard that particular vessel—my heart is too fondly tied to Lestappen and the beauty/tension of their dynamic ☺️

Tbh I’ve never gotten the Gax hype at all, I truly dislike it because: (1) George is actively out to sabotage Max through nefarious bureaucratic means, he has zero respect for Max as a person and seems to always radiate the most irritating sense of “moral superiority” when discussing Max, and (2) Max does not give a fuck about George—he truly does not care about him. Sure he’ll be cordial but Max sees George as the snake he is.

(Rambles ahead!) The thing about Lestappen is that these two are absolutely ferocious on track—they won’t give each other an inch and will battle to the last millisecond. They adore hard racing but they will never go out of their way to maliciously sabotage the other through political means. They want their battles to remain on track. And that’s why Max and Charles hold one another in such high regard: Before the politics of F1 became more and more stringent, Max and Charles raced together on pure pace, gut instinct, and skill. That’s what makes them “pure racers,” they have a genuine and true love of the sport.

That’s why Max and Charles are able to joke around with each other even though they’re competitors and would gladly shove the other off the track if they can (or can’t) get away with it: Underneath all the fire and fury, there is mutual respect.

And you sure as shit don’t get that with Gax.

All this is to say, don’t fret Anon, I’m firmly aboard the Lestappen yacht 🥰
