Had this idea bumping around in my head for the past few days
Goa and his mother stuff
Killah is a pure breed Kalai who was a great hunter as well as mother to her only child Goa. She was one of the many Kalai who was abroad the Drifter which studied beings and planets during the Old Republic while remaining neutral and hidden in their warfare.
Killah picked out the human Jun to be a donor after they caught a small Republic ship and went about studying the crews memories and their DNA.
She fell in love with Goa when she was first introduced to a small pile of cells that floated in a small tube. After that she regularly visited the growing chambers to watch and check on her half human child. When it was finally time for Goa to be ‘born’ she was already pacing before the locked doors waiting to be let in.
Goa has faint memories of being in a 'room of tubes’ and seeing things in some tubes. But his first real memory is that of something probing his mind and being ever so happy and warm to him. As in tradition they bonded for the first few days until he was old enough to be introduced to the others on the ship. A feat done while in his mothers protective grasp.
Goa’s real name is Aga, 'Go’ was a prefix added cause he was small well much smaller than the old male who went by Aga. It was used as a pet name. Yet after being alone for so long and not hearing his name he mistakes Go-Aga as his real name when Brocmil asks for his name.
When Goa came to age he was allowed to play with the other younglings which meant that they ran about the ship causing amuk of trouble and getting into all sorts of things. Life saving skills learned being climbing, play fighting, tackle tag and most importantly using those brains to solve problems. He as well as the other hybrids were placed in additional lessons to insure that they picked up the knowledge they needed for the job they were made for. Lessons on how to act, look and be a normal human being was given at an older age. Thus Goa had none of those skills when he was kidnapped.
Don’t mind me just musing on little Kalai and Lethagoe younglings running around and doing doing stuff.
Aga (Goa) of course is trying to catch up with the older ones and ends up taking a nap on the floor only to have everyone else go and join him for a quick nap.
Younglings trying to climb and get to all the tall things around he ship including their own parents cause the size difference between them is too cute. Or younglings being carried around on their parent’s tail as their parents walk or work.
The idea that the adults of both species is able to handle the hive like mind and share information between the members with ease. While the younglings mostly send spastic messages or feelings to each other as they try and figure it out how to use it properly.
Biting hard things is relatively normal for teeth breaking the gums, sharpening teeth or to simply deal with boredom.
The idea that thanks to time, a healthy (mostly) life style and a major lack of stress, Goa regains some feeling back to his connection.
Not enough to establish communication between him and his mother but just enough to sense things when they happen to be close enough to each other.
It would be annoying when he starts sensing things, even more if he improved well enough to actually pick up on any communication that she intercepted and passes on.
List of words within the Lethagoe/Kalai langauge
Cause I find the need to list this stuff down while AU'ing some lost Jedi who are captured by the Kalai/Lethagoe ship.
Rambling and attempting to figure out and maybe expanding the Kalai and Lethagoe ?
But then I remember that I could work within the idea and guides that seeing/thinking how the Kalai are telepathic and are ever shifting balls of light that they can change their shape and mess with the minds of others to make them appear as something else that they fear or even enjoy. That to them the life cycle seems to be never ending but for their hybrid offspring they hold them dear and the passing of one is shocking.. (Maybe a death simply compacts the memories of the fallen into ball of energy and that returns to the group? )
It also gives way that the Kalai might be using humans and other beings as spies when they find them, but at the same time bare their offspring to not only be the face of the species but also information gathers when dealing with races that the Kalai can't interact with. After all we do know that they are watchers of the conflict between humans and aliens. Even more so on the war.
So maybe Goa wasn't really forgotten about, maybe they just used him to gather information since he ventured further than anyone else and he simply forgot about it. It would make since, he barely remembers his own name, he doesn't remember what his native language is more or less understands it, nor does he have a clear image of the things he sometimes sees in his dreams. To think that little Goa at age 7 was given a mission to gather information and that after all the stuff he went though he forgot about it like he forgot everything else. But if he's spent so long away from the others, and he's not as developed as the rest of them would his little energy ball make it back? I know his fractured mind think it knows where home is at, but I don't think it really knows where it's at. It might have an idea, but if Goa broke the connection then there's no real link between the two places to lead him back.
The problems of the Kalai/Lethagoe race
Things that are known about the Kalai:
Capable of having hybrid children with humans called Lethagoes
Their language is difficult to translate to basic
Didn't really show up until much later around the Galactic Civil War
Currently docked on the Zirtran's Anchor
don't like dealing with outsiders
Can appear as a ball of dancing light that other's don't see
Know about the Anchors disappearance
Able to read minds and memories
Telepathic
They are observers, watching the relationship between humans and aliens
Own a strange model of ship called the 'Destiny' and have small hawk like nimble craft that out do x-wings and TIE fighters
Possibly correct/wrong about the Kalai:
possibly linked with bird or flying creatures due to their hybrid children's appearances.
Maybe balls of light, tall telepathic shadows....human...
Maybe from wild space or the unknown region
May have been around watching the wars only picking now to show themselves
Seem to be building some kind of army or something
Might be able to do a memory wipe on humans (after all I'm sure someone is gonna remember sleeping with a ball of light)
The Unknown about the Kalai:
Agenda
planet/system of orgin
Correct appearance
Their population
Known about Lethagoes:
Tall, up to 6 meters or 20ft, and reed thin
Human like
Pale and thin face with jutting chin, a sharp nose and sever eyes
deal with outsiders
Can change appearance
Know about the Anchor's disappearance
Possibly correct/wrong about Lethagoe:
High strength hidden in that reed thin body?
The unknown about Lethagoe:
Are they also telepathic?
As a hybrid can they reproduce nor no?
Just how good is that illusion?
Do they age faster than normal or because of their height are they mistaken for adults and make themselves appear older?
Well after spending almost an hour going back and forth between the book and the wookieepedia I'm left with this mess of facts, and possible truths.
I'm not sure how you can hide a 20 ft Lethagoe more or less how they would keep themselves from falling over and stuff. I'm not sure if this person was in the right mind when writing this, unless the ship is bigger on the inside.
Not a whole lot of comfortable wiggle room, the facts are barely enough to go on at times and at others leave alot more questions.
Though I can do this to Goa.
Little Lost One
Out in the middle of nowhere that was home. Where the endless void of space littered with dying stars and thriving planets was visible for all to see. Where few if any ships passed their path and those which did didn't stay for long. Where lights darted, faded, and floated as they wished. Sometimes taking different shapes that mimicked a tall thin human form.
This was home, on a large spacecraft that drifted beyond the known universe. Where dancing lights mingled with stray pirates and smugglers before sending them away without any harm but with enough questions. Aside from goods given to them, sometimes a child would join cycles after their sire's departure. While few in number they played and grew as expected to join the ranks in sustaining their home and watching the unseen along side their kin.
