Gender neutral restrooms are important

I had to go pee. so I got up from my seat and walked out of class. Midway to the restroom, I realized something kinda important... I'm in short shorts, my hair’s down today, and I’m wearing earrings. The fact that I unconsciously removed my earrings, bowed my head, and held my breath entering the men’s restroom really, just really sucks.

I just have to go pee. But removing my accessories is a matter of safety. Bowing my head is a matter of making myself invisible. Holding my breathe is understanding that even if I forced myself to use the restroom that society aligns with the sex i was assigned at birth... I’m in constant danger.

Please, fight for gender neutral restrooms on your campus. I need you too.
