This lil guy is an Ozobot - the coloured squares make up a code they can read. This particular pattern is telling them to reverse! So they're kinda stuck.

I just applied to do some volunteering for a science outreach group in communities in Nunavut and the NWT! OMG, so excited! I really hope I’m accepted!
Space Race: Logistics
Space Race: Pearl says it will take 50 years to go from earth to the nearest star system and back.
that’s 25 years each way.
The closest star system is Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf which is a part of a triple star system in the Alpha Centauri system. It is 4.22 light years away.
4.22ly = 3.992428e + 13km
depending on how fast you go and what fuel you use (for a journey of this length, it may be necessary to use nuclear fuel options)
the slowest would take 81,000 years
the fastest would take 19,000 years
the fastest theoretical method would take 85 years.
Unless Pearl is able to build something better than the theoretical Nuclear Pulse Propulsion whilst trapped on Earth, than something’s not right.
As an ex-homeworld gem, she would have gone through training, and knows how to build a spaceship (see: diagrams in Space Race) and would have built many ships, perhaps even some of those that took her to Earth, so the reason the spaceship failed was not due to lack of knowledge, it was due to a lack of the needed resources which Homeworld would have stocked in order to build a sturdy spaceship. Homeworld may have had technology more advanced than Nuclear Pulse Propulsion in the time that Pearl spent on Homeworld, which also suggests that Homeworld is much, much older than Earth, and therefore more developed.
therefore: Pearl’s spaceship in Space Race failed because of the lack of proper resources on Earth and Homeworld may have been more advanced by the time of the war (6,000 years ago) than Earth in the present day and age. Homeworld is scary-smart.

Sorry if I bug people I'm just trying to get to know more people. Even if it starts online. Look at the tags if you see something you like I wanna talk to you!
LTS is a science outreach program, run by volunteers to help bring science concepts and enthusiasm for science to schools.
I'm thinking of becoming a volunteer. ^.^
