Last #stylechallenge of Rose Mary is #realistic. Why not another cartoon style? Well, I couldn’t think of another broad one, but I do recall people like to see real-life versions of cartoon characters. So I’m giving that a try. Not sure yet if I’m going to still colour with marker like the rest of them, or pick a different medium that’s better for realism. Today’s #stylechallenge was obviously #disneystyle. This was another I’ve not studied before, so I took some tome to study both old and new Disney. You may recognize the pose and chipmunks from the original Snow White. The hummingbird is a simplified version of the one from Pocahontas. The face is more their modern style. The hair was difficult. There aren’t much for “wild haired” Disney princesses, except Merida, but here didn’t quite match Rose Mary. In the end I found Esmerelda a decent reference. #dailydrawing time! Today’s #stylechallenge was dark art; such as Tim Burton’s style. I love this style, with the stylized curls and points. To go with the style, I muted the colours, and made her armadillo and hummingbird into a skeleton and ghost. It’s not a style I’ve really studied, but I took about an hour today to study it, and managed to do this. I think it turned out well. Alright, today’s #dailydrawing style was anime/manga! I haven’t practiced this style in quite a while, but it is what I started with when I was a kid first getting into drawing comics and people, so it has definitely influenced my regular style. I think because of that, I was having trouble trying not to just draw how I normally do. The witch challenge from yesterdays stories left me with copious amounts of wonderful drawing prompts! I might end up with an army of witches.
