In ancient times cats were revered and treated like royalty, they were given a special place in the community, and in the religion, especially in Ancient Egypt. The Egyptian Goddess Bastet, is depicted as a goddess that either has the head of a cat, or is depicted as a cat.

Cats are extremely intelligent creatures, they are also very independent. It is not really possible to "own" a cat, as they do what they want, when they want. The Cat mixes sensuality with psychic awareness and spirituality. The cat also represents qualities like: * Unpredictability * Independence * Free thinking * Curiosity * Many Lives * Magic * Cleverness * The ability to fight when cornered * Protection * Mystery * Majesty * At home in the dark

Magic and Mystery are blended when the cat comes into your life, and like the cat, you are at home in the darker hours, and have an independent nature. You are quite a freethinker. You are energized by the Moon and the stars, but like every cat, you become bored easily, only staying in one place as long as your interest is captivated, once it is gone, you move on. You are organised, agile in the mind, you have clear perception of situations before you.

You are resourceful, fearless, strong and the Cat matches your personality perfectly. When the Cat comes into your life you are being taught that the physical world and the spiritual world are not separate, but one. The Cat is a powerful symbol for connecting the inner and outer self.

The Cat will not allow you to hide in the dark when you need to be walking the light, and will help to tackle the difficult situations that are holding you back. The Cat is comfortable in places where other animals and humans are not, and if the Cat comes to you, you may be inclined to explore the unknown, both in the world at large, but also deep within.

The Cat is a great hunter, but does not do this by force or will, it will watch it's prey patiently, and will only attack when the timing is perfect to catch it. The Cat teaches you to bide your time, and practice patience until the right time.
