After so many L’s on the #SNKRS app, I finally got a W for a game I’ve been waiting on since I moved to Chicago. #letsgobengals #bengals #football #chaseperdiem #day132 (at Chicago, Illinois) https://www.instagram.com/p/COzEN7YBPlR/?igshid=ea8ltlv0cn4n
There was great excitement in the air last week as we celebrated the Buffalo State 2018 Homecoming week of events. I’m sure the entire campus rocked with the Pep Rally in the Plaza. Students came out in large numbers to crank up the spirit in anticipation of the soccer and football games and to just show their Buffalo State pride. It was a pleasure to again join the festivities and to prepare for the many activities of the week.

This year several hundred alumni and friends came to campus to witness the official opening of the Jacqueline Vito LoRusso Alumni and Visitor Center. Richard Trigilio, ’90, president of the Alumni Association, convened the event, and two students who work at the center—Da’Nel Drayton and Nathalia Joshua—shared what it has been like to have both alumni and prospective students already come into the center.

The tours and good food topped off a great celebration, and it is wonderful to have this new facility open and ready for use on campus.
The ceremonial ribbon cutting of the new Jacqueline Vito LoRusso Alumni and Visitor Center was held on Thursday, September 27, 2018.
The week was also filled with a parade, a post-parade party, and the scholar-donor breakfast before the Homecoming football game, tailgating, and the enjoyment of both soccer and football on two beautiful days.

It was especially sweet to have a big win as the Bengals soared to victory at the football game. There are lots of great memories from Homecoming week, but for me, the greatest is the camaraderie of the Buffalo State community as we came together in many different venues to remember that Buffalo State is a special community.
Again and again, stories were told of great Buffalo State memories, some old and some new. And together we enjoyed the community and the bonding experience of wearing orange and looking toward future successes.
