As some of you may know, my friend @kellystrona and I participated in the #17booksin2017 challenge. I’ve always loved reading but had not been doing a lot of it in recent years because life’s gotten in the way. I don’t even remember how many books I read in 2016, and Kelly did not reach 16 books either. Together, we both exceeded the 17 books minimum in 2017. It’s informal but having a shared goal w/ a buddy really helped both of us read more this year. If you’d like to get back into #reading want to #read more, and want some buddies to share recommendations with, etc. please join us in the #18booksin2018 challenge! What Kelly and I have done in the past is take a pic of the book, post the hashtag, and maybe share some thoughts on the book. I admit I can be spoilery and sometimes put quotes from the book, but I’m trying to control it lol. I had considered joining NaNoWriMo this year, and may still, but the overwhelmed level in life lately has been high, no need to add to it. #NaNoReadMo Day 1 (playing catch-up): A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick

I’m trying to remember what prompted me to read this 5 years ago. I do remember going through a phase of ‘adultifying’ my reading to the necessary standards and that could have explained a part of it. Even so, I still can vividly see/hear the garden scene near the end of the story. I remember the darkness and poetic flavor. To my knowledge I have never recommend this as I haven’t found the appropriate recipient, now maybe? *wink*
