I absolutely love Enoch!!! I've lived in the south almost all of my life and to see a horror character like this that's southern is so refreshing ☺️ he seems homely to me even when he's all creepy
thank you!
i'm so glad he comes off that way, since that's what I wanted to go for with him. since i'm from florida and i've wanted an obviously southern character for awhile now. something just very down to earth even if they're a monster. something just self indulgent and comfy. and a monster that's protective of the poor and vulnerable people in his area as well.

So like I am an absolute slut for your (and coulsarts) clown ocs. I thought about making one myself, what inspired you? Sorry if you've answered this before. I'm seeing some grimsley and feeling THINGS
Ur totally fine!!! I love asks :^) !!! and thank youuu, coulsart is fucking grand at design too me and them are up eachothers ass sometimes yelling about giant freaks<3 And HM I already LOVE making OC's and just try to do what feels right for me and my drawing arm. For me meaning- do and create what feels right and instinctual for you? Do what feels fun to look at for YOU. That's why some of my oc's range from normal fantasy oc's (like elves, vampire etc.) to like almost unintelligible sometimes as to what they are (my oc #Lorotide is a funky example, and for gods sake Grimsley even!! ) cus I just go with the flow and try to write the character as an interesting thing for myself. Obviously creating (the art/design) is different from WRITING a character. So those are 2 different battles we all flux on. I feel like I have a pretty okay grasp on writing and designing oc's to feel very tangible to our world and issues we can feel within ourselves or enjoy seeing played out. And if someone disagrees with it I don't care much cus they're my brain goobers and like- it's fun??
I really just, am only really passionate and engaged about creative stuff, so I am basically building out my own little lala-land of little people who I feel like are constantly in a movie in my brain. Maybe some other advice I have to anyone nervous about making OC's or making a species, or a strange concept into a character/story-- is that even if it doesn't make sense in a "world building" sense at first, don't worry about people caring about that at first. (and honestly tou never have to world build something more than you want to lolll) Like you have to remember most peoples exposure to things is within seconds- we eat with our eyes and emotions automatically. So if you feel a char isn't getting attention but has an amazing fully world built backstory- maybe the art is just kinda bland or not composed in a engaging way? Or on the other hand if you see someone with a plain ass OC but EVERYONE for some reason loves it- its prolly to do with the look of the art, the flow, the emotion, the composition and intent??? (I know I'm talking alot but I'm just trying to say what I really think lol) Now for the idea on clown inspo? That can really come from SOO many places. I enjoy sort of a more performer/dancer/graceful feel to my carnies I have realized after looking thru my art recently lmao. But I've ingested so much music, media, documentaries, life experiences and seen so much art and fashion that I really can't pinpoint much inspiration for my clown oc's specifically?? I just feel it out, catch a vibe, hone it in and then add alittle personality to the lil guy and send them out to march. and if nothing else!!! you could always research specific circus things if you want to find a niche and learn more about it.
