Jonathan Ball's Lettering Process — A Tutorial | Dribbble Design Blog
Don’t know what color to fill the letters in with. Black or some pattern of blue yellow red?

Her Take On Things Blog Header: Process
I just want to share to you guys the process on how I did this blog header.
1. Lettering on paper / Scanning
I haven’t been lettering since October and honestly, it feels weird to start lettering after months of not practicing. My hands won’t cooperate and I felt like a beginner once again. It took me a while to wrap things up via paper because well, I’m back to square one. But anyway, below are the studies I did.
2. Digitizing
I settled for Set 2 lettering and immediately scanned the paper so I can digitize it via Illustrator. I wanted the letters to be “authentic” as possible so I didn’t edit it much on AI.
3. Layouting
This is the 2nd hardest part because I couldn’t settle on what elements to put because I have a lot if ideas! Sometimes, having too much ideas are also bad.
I have multiple ideas but I settled with two design studies for her to choose. After several mix and matching and trial and errors, I arrived with the final design.
I’m so glad that my friend liked it! <3
So if you guys liked this header too, don’t forget to hit that heart button and proceed to her blog site and follow. :)
Thank you!
