theme thursday: merry merry

merry christmas | red + gold letterpress holiday card by steelpetalpress

gold foil cards are my fave, and this vibrant red letterpressed style would bring a festive smile to anyone’s face. the gold stars shine against the red background and are accented by a kraft envelope.

This is the new print made from my original complete redrawing of the back of a dollar bill. Instead of “IN GOD WE TRUST” I changed the text to “IN LOVE WE ARE ALL ONE” (I also reworked the text to say “UNITED STATES OF AMOUR”).

Love, (unlike money) is something that unites us and makes us one. It’s more valuable than the greatest riches, but is democratic and egalitarian as a single dollar bill.

We are going through difficult times. But now more than ever it’s worth remembering that our dreams are still worth believing in, and it’s still possible to take what is flawed and divisive - and adapt it to something that is based on love and unity.

This A3 print was letterpressed by the fine art crafts printers Typoretum in a single special pantone green ink on high quality A3 450gsm cotton card.
