Ghosts gave Nine Inch Nails one possible pathway, so they tried another. Yes, The Slip was the latter and the LP is a better album than the predecessor, though Ghosts had a different function, so comparing them both is a bit unfair. Still, they are grouped together as they were both released on the same way and the conversation about The Slip suffers thanks to that strategy. Sadly, I might add, because Reznor still sounds invigorated as he does from With Teeth on, though you notice he does acknowledge this might be the breaking point for his group.
