10. Is your character street-smart, book-smart, intelligent, intellectual, slow-witted? 

Maxima is not… unintelligent? but she’s definitely more of a ‘right-brain’ type. she’s not great with complicated mathematics or science stuff but she has a weird encyclopedic knowledge of random shit like how many dimples are on a golf ball (336) and what Mario’s original name was (Jumpman)

16. What does your character do for a living? How do they see their profession? What do they like about it? Dislike? 

Maxima was in a band called Caffeine and Spite with two other women, Atsuko Takahashi and Vivienne Richards. they were a punk/grunge band and they were known for their hit single, ‘Dangerous Bits’. 

she definitely loved being in that band more than anything else. Atsuko and Vivienne were closer to her than her own family and the three of them spent so much time together. the only thing she didn’t like about making and performing music was when that artist’s block hit them and they all got kinda pissy with each other

17. Did they travel? Where? Why? When? 

oh yes, Max travels a lot. first she toured with her band, going to places like London and Paris and Tokyo and Numbani to perform their music.

and then that kind of went belly up because of… reasons. and then she became part of Blackwatch, and continued traveling. and then when that stopped being a thing, she just sort of wandered for several years.

25. What are their hobbies and interests? 

Maxima is into old movies and music. And by old I mean like. early 2000s. for her it’s considered really retro haha. Her favorites are Legally Blonde, Pan’s Labyrinth, Bring It On, Kill Bill…

26. What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance? 

wherever she is, Max creates chaos. she’s never been a very neat person and when she’s home (or in most cases, a hotel room) it’s even more apparent. like it’s not disgusting levels with old rotten food but there are usually empty liquor bottles, crumpled up balls of paper that missed the garbage can… she has a habit of putting on clothes, looking at herself in the mirror, deciding that she hates the outfit, and just dropping the clothes on the floor to be picked up later

her personal taste is definitely like. chicago dive bar? dirty graffiti on the walls, peeling paint, layers and layers of old stickers on mirrors, leather jackets hung from a bed post, rumpled black sheets, old comfy brown couch that’s more broken than broken in. 

40. How is their sense of humor? Do they have one? 

Max is all about puns or pranks or like. snarky sarcastic humor. like if you’re her friend, she’ll just. insult you to your face? she can take it too far without realizing and be actually hurtful, but all you have to do is tell her that she’s being mean and she’ll immediately dial it back

46. Is your character tall? Short? What about size? Weight? 

Max is 5′ even (a shorty) and she’s a bigger gal, to be sure

Posture? How do they feel about their physical body? 

Posture’s not the best, but Maxima is usually pretty comfortable in her body. she knows she’s a bigger girl but if you think that’s gonna stop her from anything, honey… you got a big storm coming. self conscious is not a term in her vocabulary

48. How are your character’s gestures? Vigorous? Weak? Controlled? Compulsive? Energetic? Sluggish? 

oh my god Maxima is like a cartoon character. she’s constantly moving. always animated, always gesticulating, always dancing or tapping her foot or playing with her hair or something. if she can’t channel her energy into playing the guitar, it has to come out in other ways and those are usually way more annoying. drumming with her hands on any available horizontal surface (tables, car hoods, mccree’s butt) is the first sign she’s getting antsy
