nate and leverage 2.0

so new guy to the main cast and nate booted off bc his actor did some hinkey shit, all right

but what that means in terms of the characters? last time we saw sophie, she was engaged and retiring with nate, so what would pull sophie outa retirement except if something happened to nate. She’s back in the game for revenge

I have it dead set in my mind that nate is gonna die, and as my sibling pointed out, nate has made a lot of enemies and something happening to him and the rest of the crew re-uniting seems like a surefire pilot episode to kick things off

and something that made me v sad to think about is that if nate dies we’d probs(?) see, parker crying bc nate was somewhat of a parental/father/mentor to her and she’s had people connection troubles in the past so this is gonna hurttt. eliot and hardison, hug your gf for me plz.

although hardison is probably gonna be like season two sophie, off somewhere, characters calling him at random times for help (Bc hodge was cast in a fricken superhero movie)

also i know the ot3 has been deemed ‘safe’ but i will combust if we see eliotxparker and hardisonxeliot domiticity

Throwing out this theory before more Leverage sequel news gets announced: “what happened to Nate” is going to be a running joke in the sequel a la “what’s Sophie’s “real” name” in the original.

Examples could include: “what do you mean - he’s right over there” *cut to old Nate painting*; “deep undercover for a long con”; “he’s a stay-at-home dad” “wait, you guys had a kid” *kid is never mentioned again*; “who’s Nate”; and so on.

In the discussion of the Leverage reboot, I keep seeing them call it a “reimagining.” Which implies that while they are aware of the original, they are willing to make changes that would affect the original series if it was just a direct sequel. Naturally, this has me curious as to what the changes could be and got me thinking...

As of right now, the only actor playing a major character who wasn’t brought back in some way is Timothy Hutton. And it’s for the best, considering the serious allegations against him. I imagine he was intentionally not asked back. Given this and the fact that Noah Wyle has been added to the cast, I can’t help but wonder if part of the reimagining is Nathan Ford being recast.

For the Leverage fandom and KDramas enthusiasts. Korea made a leverage series, kinda like the whole show in 16 eps. I felt full blown nostalgia watching it. And there are plenty of hints to the old show, the Korean Eliot has a puppy whose name you shouldn't miss. I really recommend it in the run up to the reboot. Its really well done.

okay but in the first episode of the reboot when Sophie says "I'm just here for the art" I'm wondering if she means the actual exhibits or The Art Of The Con because she HAS to know that by engaging with Harry she's getting herself wrapped up in something
