"Give up on your dreams and die"
Saltine Crackers - Levi x Reader
Like most couples, there was arguing. And in this relationship, it felt like there was a plentiful amount. Levi and Y/N were very much so in love, but in the sort of the way, that when they loved each other, it was deeply. In the same sense, when they were mad at each other, it was deeply. Normally, it was private issues. Levi pushed the limit with his teasing was one of the most common link between the two that sparked fights.
This time, however, it was Y/N’s fault. Not entirely, of course. He was asking for it. He had dared to continue to point out all of the things that made their blood boil, so it wasn’t too bad that they did it just this once.
Well, maybe that would ring true if they hadn’t done it in front of the entire regiment.
Y/N could even picture the same scenario just hours ago in their mind.
It all started with lunch, Y/N exhausted from training and unfortunately for the whole rank, Hange had decided to take up cooking. Because of this, they allowed her to have full access to the kitchen for whatever recipes she wanted to try. She loved to experiment with the many flavors, spices, and sauces to cook up a disgusting dish. This was a disappointment to almost all of them. Some said they’d rather be eaten by a titan than eat her food.
Y/N didn’t complain aloud, but they were lucky enough to find a box of crackers their family had sent them in a care package. Their family was sweet like that, and they weren’t a fan of those crackers, but it was better than what Hange had to offer. And if they didn’t eat soon, Hange’s food would start to look appetizing.
As they munched away on them, their long time boyfriend joined them, his arm gently clamping their shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze, in a loving way. But his words seemed to only ignite their fire as he said, “Jesus, those look worse than Hange’s food. Way too salty.”
“Come on, they’re not that bad.” Countered the soldier, hoping that he’d just drop the subject all together. They were too hungry and moody to care.
“Through those crackers you might have just found a titan repellent.”
“Shut up, Levi, you’re more salty than these crackers and you know it.”
In their defense, it seemed that at that moment everything got quiet. Everyone had quieted down for some unknown reason, trying to stifle whatever sounds they were making, and at that time, it seemed to be when Y/N reached their breaking point.
Either bad luck or bad timing, they weren’t sure. But with a glare, everything broke out into laughter but Levi didn’t say a word for a good two minutes.
In a rage, he finally said, “L/N, if I’m so ‘salty’ then why don’t you spend the next few weeks scrubbing my floors to rid it of any salt. Anyone else who finds it so funny can join them.”
Y/N sighed loudly, the scene itself leaving them groaning. Scrubbing floors was not their ideal night.
