christmas cuddles [miracolina x lev, ≈ 250]

The fireplace crackles in the background, its flames casting a soft glow across the room. The christmas tree stands, its brightness and colorful ornaments a contrast to the dimness of the room.

Lev sits there contently, his blonde hair falling over his eyes as he feels Miracolina run her fingers through the soft strands. Her nails feel soothing as she scratches lightly against his scalp, providing the affection that he yearned for as an AWOL.

The room’s quiet, almost silent except for the sounds of the television, a Christmas movie playing in the background while two cups of hot cocoa sat on the coffee table. Colorful ornaments hung on the tree, candy canes strewn across the fireplace, stockings empty yet soon to be full.

No words are exchanged, but really, do they have to be?

Lev finds himself leaning back, his sapphire eyes fluttering shut, his head falling to rest on her chest. And in this very moment, in the tranquility of Miracolina’s presence, he forgets.

He forgets his troubles in life, he forgets about almost successfully becoming a clapper with Mai and Blaine, he forgets about his adventure with Cy-Fi, and he forgets about his time at the Cavenaugh mansion, all to savor this lovely moment with his new girlfriend.

Eventually, slumber crawls closer, and the blonde succumbs to drowsiness, drifting off to sleep while he lays in his girlfriend’s arms.

Is this was it felt like to be at peace?

I think the reason I liked the Unwind dystology by Neal Shusterman is because I related too much to the characters.

Because my parents would have unwound me.

You know what's one of the saddest moments in Unwind?

When Tyler through Cy-Fi was begging his parents to not Unwind him, although he already was, and how his parents just cower in fear.

When Lev almost kills Tyler's parents to get them to tell an already unwound kid to not unwind him. He was ready to kill them without remorse.

The tragedy is that the promise that they won't unwind him will never be fulfilled.
