It could be possible that Deryn has an intersex variation. maybe a chromosomal one or one that becomes apparent after puberty. Or one that isn't apparent. Yes, I think that may be so.

Deryn would eat the center out of an Oreo and Alek would find that barbaric.
Deryn can still walk after her knee broke, but it’s still more vulnerable than if would be if she never broke it and she has a noticeable limp. She tends to walk with a cane just so as not to exacerbate it when not climbing. If it breaks again, it will not mend as well.
Did anybody actually buy that thing with Malone in Goliath? Because Alek such a goody two-shoes, I don't see how *anyone* could've been tricked for the slightest nanosecond.
Does Zaven know his daughter has "The Gay"? He's a pretty chill guy so I'm thinking he'd be/is cool with it even in light of the whole "Christian in th 1910's" thing. I bet Nene already knows. Hell, I bet Nene knew before Lilit knew.
How likely is it that Alek gets addicted to painkillers after an accident later in life and everyone has to deal with it?
Deryn and Alek's relationship is not one of completely placid waters. But they *talk* everything out (in part thanks to the promise), and because they do it well, they do well together.
Newkirk would make a terrible spy because he’d get super in-character every time and make it impossible to talk to him like a normal person.
