★The Madness of Stanford Gleeful★
Brother
Odd piece I’m trying out. From Will Cipher’s perspective- a very irritated Will, after a certain yellow brother of his tangles with the Pines of his dimension... It’s a short experimental oneshot. Tell me if I do him well, y’all.
To the mun of @willcipherblogs, Cy, please take a look :) Here’s the fic I mentioned. Take it as a thank you for that wonderful version of Karma you sang in Will’s voice!
I felt it when my brother died in his dimension.
I was… suffice to say, upset.
“Will! You just RUINED the ritual we were trying to set up-“ my master splutters, glaring up at me with the ubiquitous turquoise eyes of the version of the Pines in this dimension. He really should have known something was wrong from how still I was- I was normally trembly and on edge in his presence. I looked at him with utter, deep rooted disdain- he was attempting to intervene in something beyond his knowledge or comprehension.
As usual.
“Silence.”
The male goes silent, staring up at me with wide eyes. He had never heard such a condescending tone from me before- it was pretty obvious from the slack jawed expression on his face. He regathers fairly quickly, but I had already started creating the wormhole and therefore tuned him out.
“We made a CONTRACT and you will OBEY ME-“
“This overrides our contract. I’ll be back when I can.”
“WHAT-WAIT-WILLIAM CIPHER-!”
I was gone from the posh human living space before Mason Gleeful could finish spluttering. Much as I often played by the rules of a contract and respected my human masters- very unlike my brother, who sought to dupe his masters and completely and utterly disrespected them more often than not- the bonds of blood and time overrode any petty contract made. I had a job to do that was as old as time itself, if not somewhat older- I had to pick up after my brother’s mess and make sure he made it out in one piece.
Bill Cipher might not have been my blood brother, in the sense humans use. But we knew one another, and had for a very long time. And, as such, tended to pick up after one another and allow the licking of one another’s wounds. Bill had looked after me in his own odd way more than once, and I had returned the favor quite often. Though, out of the pair of us, Bill usually ended up more badly hurt as he tended to play with fire in how he behaved around humans… As such, I excelled at the healing of wounds incurred from a variety of exorcism rites and such that had gotten Bill’s ass in hot water multiple times in the past…
Speaking of wounds… Bill had really done it this time. I wasn’t really aware of the surrounding scenery- it was somewhere in the Forest of his dimension- just… exactly how bad off my reverse’s essence was after this last tangle with the humans he obsessed over.
He had really pushed them to the limit this time. He was in pieces all over the clearing.
“…Well, you really did it this time…”
Sighing heavily, I held out the appendages most would term hands on my current form. Closing my eye, I concentrated and gathered the pieces of my Reverse’s soul into the area between my cupped palms- which was, after all, all it took. The energy left took the form of a small golden triangle- single eye closed, hands and feet spreadeagle across my spidery hands.
“…Bill…”
He’d not been reduced to this type of stasis in a long time. I knew Bill would be inert for a while- a very, very dodgy state for my mouthy brother to be in. He had a lot of enemies that would happily pounce on a chance to squash him when he couldn’t fight back. Some of those enemies made defending me.
Maybe…
I slipped him into the little pocket at the left breast of the suit Mason preferred me in as I swapped shapes. Maybe it would at last prove of some use, if only to quietly house my slumbering sibling. Who, hopefully, wouldn’t choose some inopportune time to wake up… Though, knowing Bill…
A smile drifted over my lips as I prepared to- reluctantly- return to the dimension I called home.
I was almost looking forward to the madness to follow brother’s waking up….
