01: Sleeping habits headcanon Donnie x Mikey
i wasn’t sure if you meant together or on their own, so have both:
mikey: an unruly, deep sleeper. he’ll spend a lot of time tossing and turning, throwing his limbs every which way, kicking off his sheets and/or getting horribly tangled in them. in his own bed, he sleeps with a lot of /stuff/. like, there will be random plush critters, crinkled comic books, maybe an occasional action figure somewhere between the sheets and him and he really likes having his bed all stuffed with stuff. he’s not a /noisy/ sleeper, though. he occasionally sighs or hums in his sleep or kick at something that makes noise, but he himself is pretty silent otherwise. he widely prefers sleeping in a bed or similar “designed for sleeping” objects. he doesn’t do well sleeping on the floor, outside or sitting up.put him in a sleeping bag and he’ll be the funkiest little caterpillar, all over the place.
donnie: “is he even still breathing” sleeper. once donnie is tired, he’ll sleep anywhere, in any position available. he doesn’t move much at all, probably because he spent so many years sleeping on his desk that he stopped himself from moving to reduce the damage of pushing off things. he doesn’t care much about finding a fitting sleeping spot and usually his body simply shuts down when he’s too tired. he’ll sleep with his face smushed into the keyboard, bent over random furniture, curled on the floor, leaning against one if his brothers, he falls asleep standing, hanging in a trap, upside-down, donnie don’t care. he’s a bit of a drooler. since he usually ends up zonking out with his face smushed against a hard surface, he sleeps open-mouthed and drools wherever. donnie’s a silent sleeper. when he’s really good and out, you can’t even hear him breathe.
them together: sharing a bed transforms mikey into a baby koala. he’ll stop squirming and wrap himself around his bedmate. donnie especially. mikey really prefers being the “big spoon”, curling himself all around donnie’s shell and nuzzling into his neck. they work really well together in bed, because donnie is the only one that doesn’t get claustrophobic with mikey clinging to him. and having mikey as a bedmate also means don actually /gets/ to sleep in a bed. occasionally, when there’s something that bothers mikey or when he had nightmares or a bad day, he’ll curl up against donnie’s plastron and they sleep buried under all the blankets.
