You speak of the contracts, you speak of this place, as if they are things you can best or win. When we first met, I believe the way you worded it was that you completed your contract. You fail to understand the fundamental truth about the contracts, about this place.
Your contract worked its will through you. You didn't finish it. It got finished with you, after fulfilling the exact purpose it was designed to serve.
That's how infernal contracts work. They live and breathe themselves into existence, into the world. They are the most powerful, potent form of magic that exists, on this plane or any other. An infernal contract is want made manifest. It's greed given physical form; it's desire made real, tangible. And it exerts its will on the world until it's done. It's eternal. It's pure potential. It’s limitless possibility. No other magic that exists can do what an infernal contract can do.
And even now, you scoff. I understand your attitude, your perspective that you "won." You are, after all, a direct descendent of a conqueror. Faced with infernal magic the breadth and depth of which you cannot even comprehend, you shrug. In all your arrogance, you think you're better than what made you.
I knew, the first time we met, without needing any other clues, that appealing to your desire for revenge would be a way forward to a contractual agreement with you. Do you know how I knew that? Because you are a child of Algaraz.
Even as you stand here as though you are above it all, you stand here Algaraz's child. That glint of revenge in your eye comes directly from him. And that means that even without being bound to a contract, you move with the will of the Hells inside you. You and your brother. You are both a hellish influence on the world. You bring a piece of this place with you wherever you go.
I know you sense this to be true. And you may deny it, you may defy it, but you cannot escape where you come from. That is the folly of mortals, always believing they are above the very mud they are rolling in.
You don't understand what you are. And I do not say that disparagingly.
All that an erinyes had to do to give you the gift of telepathy was nudge you. A slight nudge, and you were awakened. Can you imagine what you could do with all the power of the Pact Primeval and the Diabolic Courts of the Nine Hells behind you?
Your soul would sing to end up here.
