It’s been a while since I’ve been on the old creature design trail, so here’s an introduction to one of my other passion projects: Caricritters! Essentially a monster catcher game concept featuring a world of cartoony little animal tulpas that each fall into one of 24 Sorts (types).

Design Basis: Visually inspired by a generic moth and descriptions of the Mothman

Name Origin: Nothing + Moth; essentially “Void Bug”

Noth in particular is a moth Caricritter, a Shadow Sort with piercing red eyes, wings that fold into a cape…and little else. Even by Shadow standards, he’s incredibly enigmatic and strange. No government records, no ID, no letters from his mother…and he refuses to give any legal name other than “Noth”. His expression never even changes.

His powers aren’t that hard to discern, though. The ability to turn a space into a vacuum, drain HP, and sink into shadows is fairly typical.
