The best thing I ever did for myself was to stop focusing on my anxiety.

so I have this app called Writing Amino and I just made a “Favorite” (which you can really just consider as a category or folder) for my writings because of the last post I made.

For further explanation, my Favorites are “Panic Journal”, “Aftermath Writings”, “Hanx Writer”, “April 2015 Daily Smallwrites“, and “For Lexi”.

I just want to share my description for the “For Lexi” one because she may never see it in that app. if you want to see the gif I guess you’ll have to check out the app ahha and ask for my username

These are poems for my friend Alexis. If you ever show up here, Lexi, I chose this gif because you have, indeed, made me feel glad to be alive. I only wish that you find everything you’re looking for in life, as well as the things you aren’t looking for that are for your best and your life-long contentment. I’m not going to pretend I “know” your anxiety. I know mine, and I understand the concept of anxiety, at least.

Beneath, above, and surrounding it all: I love you. All of us girls love you. The guys, too. Bae loves you. And you don’t have to give anything back. You don’t owe anything for any of it. And, after thinking about it, you are probably the most interesting person I know. And one thing that makes it so easy for me to be confident about that is because other people don’t realize it. You’re everything. You’re everything you are and everything you don’t realize you are and everything nobody sees. I want a mind like yours because I know it’s bright and thoughtful. Shadows are real and scary, yet I still know that your eyes are some of the brightest I’ve ever seen.

so one day you just keep going

and I don’t know how to tell you how you’re going to do that keep-going thing

but one day life is going to turn around to smack you in the face

and life is going to bow the hell up because you aren’t going to be there

because you will be up and around the mountain and sashaying and crawling and groping your way through the trees and someday that’s when everything bad and trouble and something in life waddles up behind you and follows you around,

but can’t reach your face for a clean smack anymore

Two notes to self:

1. Tomorrow I'm going to either draw Alyss from the Looking Glass Wars or Max from Maximum Ride 2. Also, I need/really want to start putting the drawings from this drawing challenge up. I'm enjoying it even though I didn't finish yesterday's, and even if I don't finish today's or some of the rest, because then I'll have a whole slew of things that I can draw on later and I'll at least have started them. 3. I also need to take a shower but that is not relevant to drawing and I should be able to remember that on my own
