Lexicon of Dates by Kolmar and Bartkowski
What i got from this articles is that we live in a paradigm of women being oppressed and that is what society lets us view them. Yes racism is still a powerful conflict in the world and especially more effective today but women also suffered just as much as black people. They had a moment where it was the woman suffrage where they had to fight for their right to vote. Where they wanted to have the same jobs as men and wanted to be seen then just more than a sex object. That being said Kolmar and Bartkowski stated in the article that woman usually connect with the world with their bodies. A womans body should be a temple and sacred but society and media want to just use their sex appeal as money makers or just expose what they have. A crazy thing that got me stuck was when they informed us that women were inferior to men because they did not have a penis and that the lack of that makes them more sensitive and soft. Also, because they have a menstrual cycle and the ability to get pregnant is what holds them back and makes men more dominate for having no setbacks.
Feminism will always be an issue because majority of the world will always put men over women and say that men are better than them in basically everything. whether it is labor work or jobs, status or dominance. Will it ever change? Hell if i know.
