I doubt anyone besides Anne and maybe Night know Leyra. Pics first, THEN ramble. She is the immediate predecessor of Leopara's concept, the stepping stone from Sundara and Tigrina to Leopara. (Like Tigrina, she was Tygra/OC.)
I went through a LOT of outfits for Leyra, as you'll see. These ones are quite different from other outfits I'd tried on Cats thus far, and very different from Leopara.

You'll see a couple of these poses reappear, as I thought they were a lot of fun. Some even got a bit of color.
Mostly to help me visualise. I think I had already started rewriting Ruins, and Pumilee was wearing purple, when I was playing with this idea.

This was when I was thinking of making her daintier. She did not stay dainty in my head for very long.
Outfit 4? Thunderan armor
I never cleaned these either, and they were just a concept I was entertaining, not a serious design for her.
You might be seeing these stripes and thinking Leyra was a tiger. You might have also picked up the 'L' in her name and her coloration, and think "huh?"
You see, Leyra was a departure from trying to blend a character into ThunderCats (which would ultimately be why I move away from her, but I still enjoyed creating her and putting her in scenarios, and she really helped me flesh out magic more). Leyra was a liger. It was a whole plot that the royal family had tried to force her father to reveal what he knew about the tigers, which was little.
She had a stepmother and so many half siblings on both sides, and they were all going to be plot relevant, in theory. (I'd kinda given up writing TCats fic because of my extreme guilt around Ruins, so I never bothered coming up with an actual fic for her).
Speaking of her family. I have art of them as well :)
Sinha was her father. I don't remember much about him, except he had met a tigress while traveling and had a passionate relationship before duty caused them to part ways.
Lionsin was her younger half brother. No idea why I made him cool or have kusarigama. I was in an intense Bleach (the anime) phase, I think.
Rudrani, Leyra's biological mother. She left Leyra with Sinha when they parted ways, knowing the clan would never accept her. Unclear if she was part of the TigerClan seen in Native Son, or one of the others I made for (old, old versions of) Bengali
Rajah, Rudrani's son, and Shiva, her tiger mate. He was deceased, i believe. Not Rajah, though. Rajah was so fine.
The naming conventions of this gen were whack and I won't talk about it, lmao
