Dying Stars

The day we first met I thought we could rule the world together

as you danced to the music I was playing

shining like a galaxy,

the brother who I always wished for.

The family I never had.

Cause my father vanished and my mother used to leave me

But for one moment as you were laughing

it never happened to me.

I found my family in you.

Those seconds goes by.

She calls out your name

takes you rough

beats you down.

I want to hold on

But I realize she already took you away from me

Leaving me with nothing but a memory and a broken heart

I want to bring you back, my family, my home.

Every night when I close my eyes I imagine you by my side.

I tell myself that one day together we'll run away

that one day we'll be brothers again.

But I know nothing will ever be alright

when I see the stars dying in your eyes

I saw her hurting you.

The woman who left me took away your birth right, too.

I'm begging her to stop, not to hurt you my brother

She only tells that I'm not her son anymore.

She used to be my mother

now she's just an obstacle between me and you.

I try to hold you close before she takes you away

I grow up to be a man

but I never forget this little boy who´s named my brother

I look at your face and see just numb expression

I call your name

You ask if we already met

These cracks in my chests start to bleed again

Can't you remember me?

Strangers in a dark room

A storm is raising inside of me

screaming and begging me for mercy

The woman who betrayed me took not only my childhood but who I was too.

Now I'm feeling numb inside

while my mind shatters all over again.

I live my life the best I can

But the hole in my heart won't heal with time

I remember this face, this voice, this lie,

the day they told me I would be alright

but no one told me who would help you survive this fight

I ask them the same question and their answers are always the same good old lie.

My voice is lost in the noise of laughter

Nothing worth

Not good enough, not strong enough

To make them stop their laughter

making me hating what I see in front of me

A knife and a gun in a young boys hand

someone I used to call my brother

I know she created a cold hearted killer

but still I can see those dying stars in your eyes

Now you're a soldier and I'm the preacher

begging you to lay your weapons down in war

When you vanish in the crowd I ask

If you’d kill me, would you remember me?

I always hoped she´d die

But I never thought someone could hear this cry

She was the barrier parting me from you,

now gone- a bad memory locked away in a forgotten room

Even the woman that took everything from me, needed to pay her price

knowing this nightmare has come to an end

But these years of rejection and darkness had taken their price

I changed in a way I don't tent to describe.

Formed by this thing I use to call life

This was the last time I would get to tell you the truth

The last chance to save me from being swallowed by the dark hole

the words are stuck in my throat

And like all those years I cry,

Now I'd missed another try.

Remembering a family - a home.

A song/peom based on the story of one of my charaters who was never really able to get to know his little brother and had to watch as their mother abused him over several years. When he was about 23 and his brother 17 they were finally able to meet each other and found who they'd known-or unknowingly- been searching for their whole life.
