Hey everyone it’s Julie here. I’m back with another review, this time it’s going to be S Flower; a webtoon that had caught my eye (I saw this over at @little-psycho-boys blog). All I’m going to say is...Wow. This webtoon is really something that I didn’t expect at all. Before I start, I just want to add that while Kai and I usually joke about how weak female MC’s are in these Yandere stories, The MC in S flower is going pass the extremes to dominatrix territory. Personally, while I prefer this type of MC over the weak MCs, there is one thing that I’m not completely on board with.
Although it feels nice that the female MC is finally taking on the role of the “driver” in her own story for once, this MC has no idea where the hell she wants to go, so the story is pretty much as messy as her relationships with her male harem. It’s probably intentional though. Usually in almost all webtoons or in some cases mangas such as Domestic Girlfriend: the messier (spicy) the plot; the more entertaining it is for it’s viewers. So if this is what you find entertaining then I would go for it.
Anyways, about the “Yandere”. He’s more of the stalking horse or cannon fodder, while she’s fucking around with all these other guys. MC’s does the most longest swerve that I’ve ever seen to completely avoid fucking him (consciously) and its honestly such a funny/pitiful sight to read. I have a theory that A: either the MC will not end up with the Yandere since he’s been completely left out the “fun” thus far, OR that once the MC had her “fun” she’s going to settle down with him. Who knows honestly. In terms of how I would rate the Yandere...Not very highly. The reason why is because the Yandere just sort of lets the MC have her fun while he’s just been standing for 30+ chapters, twiddling his thumbs waiting for her to finish (I’m getting lot’s of Deathless flashbacks and I don’t like it). While Homin is still a Yandere, he wouldn’t be the most efficient one.
