Shower Talk

It had been a few days after their fight at breakfast, but they were already past everything. Clearly, seeing as here he was, opening the door to the bathroom, where Benji was in the process of taking a shower. Amos had been wondering about something he had overheard some of the other guys talking about in the locker room. Curious, he came to his best friend (and nurse) to help him out of his doubts. Sitting on the toilet, he finally cleared his throat. "H-hey, Benji. C-can I ask you something?" He said, hoping not to startle the other too much.

Community Hospital of Anderson, Indiana

Amos had left home just a few nights ago. He had picked up everything he could, and had sneaked out his window. He didn't see where he was going, his mind in too much of a haze. He had fallen alseep somewhere unknown to him, must of been underneath a highway because he woke up to the sound of cars rushing by above him. He barely gave himself some time to wake up before starting to walk again. Hours later, his throat was dry, he could barely move his feet anymore, and he would kill for anything to eat. He made it another block before leaning against the wall, and passing out.

He opens his eyes when he hears multiple people around him, asking him questions which he doesn't have the strength to answer, and eventually knocks out again. He doesn't know how later it is, but when he opens his eyes again, he is in a bed in a small room, and there is someone next to him. A young man in some scrubs.

"The highway? Uh... I'm actually looking for it myself."

"A trucker I asked said it was six blocks from here, if you go west." He said, pointing to the left.
