it was all new.

she was going to make her debut. it was real and official. she was moving into a dorm with her group mates. as much as she wanted to debut, to see it happening in real time. it felt a little unreal. everything had been moved, she had properly unpacked and fixed her room with her manager who had just run out for a bit.

all that was left to take out the trash. that's how she found herself meeting one of her members, carrying loads of trash. she had just put it all away when saw them. it was weird, she knew some of them as trainees. then the dynamic changed when they became her seniors and now she was somewhat on the same level. "hello." her words were paired with a deep bow.

"i'm the new member sarang, it's nice to meet you."

now that he's gotten through one of the episodes of the show, he's already feeling more confident in his hosting skills. of course, he's done a lot over the years, from the golden disc awards to some of the year end gayos, but sitting down one on one and interviewing a friend? that was relatively new for him.

he's done a few with the v&a members, but those were more of sitting and reacting than real interviews. he'll have to thank his promotion team for always giving him new experiences later probably, but for now ..

he turns to hyejoo, a smile on his lips, a few favourite snacks and drinks spread out on the table. "feel free to help yourself to any snacks on the table," he says, after his little intro of her. a quick little, "introducing everyone's favourite main vocalist, youngwon of crystallis!" he's given an introduction and they've chatted a little now so he wants to get more into the reason they're filming this show.

"do you remember how we met or how we became friends?" jiho asks, wracking his brain as well. for the other two people who were going to be on his show, he had relatively clear memories of how they had met but for some reason, he couldn't really remember a time when he and hyejoo (and yura for that matter) hadn't been friends, aside from before he had joined the company.

"i kinda feel like we were in the same trainee hours or something, and we just became friends like that?" he offers, though he has no clue, if he's honest.

Hosting a radio show isn't new to Soyoun. She's already done it with Hanwoo Radio back then, so she supposes it's the same here. The only difference is that she'll be doing it in Japanese. Thankfully, she's not alone and has someone to bounce off ideas and energy with.

"Good evening, and welcome to LGC CHARMS JAPAN: THE RADIO!" Soyoun says as they open tonight's episode. After all the necessary introductions are done, Soyoun then turns her attention to Hyejoo.

"In honor of spring, tonight's episode will be all about springtime traditions!" Soyoun says as she playfully claps her hands. "Spring usually means a lot of new beginnings, right? That's why in Japan, the school year begins in the spring. It's a similar case back in Korea," she says as she looks at her notes. "Kyoka, what was preparing for a new school year like for you? At least before you joined the company."

they probably paint quite the peculiar picture.

hunched over the only occupied booth at the mcdonald's tucked away on the furthest outskirts of mokdong, wooju — hood tucked securely over his head — gazes forlornly at the empty, almost haunting, playplace that's (to his dismay) not open at three in the morning.

the silence that sits between them at the only occupied booth at the near-empty mcdonald's frequented by the adventurous elderly that want to try the shrimp burger, and the occasional grade-schooler that's ready to spend their allowance on a kid's meal — well, the silence is palpable.

but it's not that he's uncomfortable.

wooju blinks, shifting his focus back to the half-eaten meal in front of him. the gnawed on plastic straw wilting pathetically in his paper cup of lukewarm water.

"so," he suddenly begins, still engaged in a heated staring contest with a pair of criss-crossed french fries scattered right before him. "the thing is..."

a pause. he lets out a contemplative little 'hmm,' and then he finally lifts his head properly, eyes meeting @lgchyejoo's for the first time tonight since the overworked part-timer dully told them 'the playplace is closed. and also, for, like, kids.'

"don't freak out," wooju adds belatedly, and then, on second thought: "and don't tell anyone yet, but..." he latches onto the straw again. bites it thoughtfully. "i think this girl at legacy has a crush on me?"

everything and anything japanese, at this point, has her more traumatized than the average citizen. whether you call her dramatic or not, it’s undeniable that danbi has a bit of a complex when it comes to japan - well, maybe not with the country as a whole but rather, what the concept of japan means to her. as a constant reminder that her position is never secure, and that she’ll probably never be good enough.

it was bad the first time around, when she was chastised for her lack of japanese fluency and stripped of her role as leader - but to be threatened with the same for a second time? with no hesitation nor qualms, it was clear how the company felt about her absence of, for lack of a better word, growth since she promoted in japan last.

she was embarrassed and, therefore, all the more nervous when the stakes were undoubtedly higher this time around. her hands are shaking, clutching onto her music sheets as she’s waiting for her turn to record. and with only danbi and hyejoo left for the day, her nerves only doubled when faced with the inevitable comparison with one of the group’s main vocals.

“h-hyejoo-ah,” she practically stammered out. “you’re good at japanese, right? would you mind double-checking that my pronunciation’s alright?”

how to entertain kids

                      okay yeah maybe simon says is too complicated for kids that are three years old, but come on, you got to start making them masterminds from a young age.

hyoseop was honestly not that good with kids, it wasn’t really like he was bad with kids, he was just not good. hyoseop had never spent much time with people much younger than him, so it easily made sense that he also just hadn’t grown used to how to treat much younger people. still, even with hyoseop’s lack of knowledge towards kids, he wanted to give these kids the best day of their life (which they would most likely just forget about since they’re so young). and along this day, he had had lots of fun so far, except for mirae almost telling the kids scary stories and scaring them, and also except getting attacked and crawled on by kids, also except from when they tried to make him eat plastic food. okay point is, maybe there was a lot of things that made hyoseop sure he isn’t ready for a kid yet, but he still enjoyed the day.

and what was he currently doing? playing simon says, and together had hyejoo joined him. “awee you did it when i didn’t say simon says again hyejoo” truth is hyejoo was doing this simon says thing completely fine, hyoseop however had still told her she was out first in all the rounds they had done. “everyone, hyejoo is an example, if we don’t do what we’re told then we will become short when we’re older” he giggles. “okay hyejoo do you have any ideas for a new game we can play?”.
