L’Heure Bleue is my favourite Guerlain unless I’m into a different one, in which case it’ll be that, but for right now it’s for sure this and it’s Perfume with a capital P. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The initial spray is a big lemony bergamot and slightly spiky aniseed, but the Iris carnation heart settles down into a warm skin scent, a dry vanilla pod, tonka, a touch of benzoin. A little Guerlain round-up. Samsara EDP, L'Heure Bleue EDT, and the new Aqua Allegoria Nerolia Vetiver. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Nerolia Vetiver is the newest to me, so I won't say much about it. I've only worn it once. Ok, well I will say that there's not a lot of vetiver especially if something like Chanel Sycomore is your reference. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ L'Heure Bleue... I adore this perfume, it gets me many compliments, great in the summer time... I left this bottle with my mom and it's weird that I really idealized how it smelled which I didn't think I could do. I have the EDP also, and it's much stronger. I feel like I enjoy the EDT more, maybe because I got it first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Samsara EDP... A little old bottle I got in a swap and it smells intact. Honestly, I've smelled a lot of new perfumes this month, maybe too many new perfumes since a top tier fancy niche store is open 10 minutes from here, but Samsara still knocks it out of the park for me. Again, spraying from samples and in store is sometimes different from owning a bottle and living with a perfume, but yeah, it's hard to be wowed by anything when I can come home to this. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Also, an empty fireplace seems like a nice place to store your perfume collection. True story: I got my bottle of L’Heure Bleue (edt) in a swap for my D&G Light Blue. I liked Light Blue enough but it always smelled a bit generic to me and I found that I never really wanted to reach for it. L’Heure Bleue I wear all the time, I find it so easy to wear, but not like how sweatpants are easy, more like how my favourite dress is easy. It looks good AND it feels good on. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The anise note in the opening makes it perfect for hot sticky summer days. Anise seeds are cooling by nature and Indian people always have them lying on little dishes around their houses as breath fresheners, it’s in a little jar in our spice cabinets, and it flavors summer chai. Eating anise is as cooling as chewing a stick of peppermint gum, and the anise in L’Heure Bleue cuts through the heat. The middle is a Guerlain-esque blend of carnation, rose, neroli, and a soft cloud of powder envelopes it all. I always hear about the drydown of vanilla and tonka but the edt never gets there on me, or maybe the vanilla is so dry and almost imperceptible. The EDT is still my favourite way to wear this perfume. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ My bottle is from the 80’s… but Guerlain has these in new modern bottles as part of the Legendaires collection and they’re at counters, easy enough to find online, and not that expensive (less than $100 when they’re on sale). J'aimerais vous donner mon avis sur cette Eau de Parfum L'heure Bleue de chez GUERLAIN. ☑️ Mon avis : Cette eau de Parfum L'Heure Bleue de chez GUERLAIN est agréable à porter surtout en période d'hiver car il est chaleureux, subtile et fort en caractère, l'odeur change au fil des heures, c'est un grand classique, il n'est pas entêtant. Cette eau de Parfum a une tenue exceptionnelle. Le flacon est magnifique avec son bouchon en forme de cœur inversé. Une belle découverte pour moi.
