Maybe "The Journey of Legend" would have been a lot more interesting if it were just focused solely on Li Chenzhou being the main character/anti-hero protagonist and Liu Suifeng being his adversary. And maybe if the author really wanted some transmigration angle, then Xiao Ming-ming should have just found himself inhabiting the character of the Power Sect Chief.
Gray characters whose motivations are not quite clear if good or bad are often a lot more interesting than the heroes themselves.
