the thing that makes me the most sad about that liam reblog is the fact that it probably really is a big thing to him and his family. he wasn’t brought up rich like so many other drivers, they probably didn’t attend *that* many races because it’s expensive. it’s not like some other rich driver who grew up attending races every year, taking his family to a race could be really special
this!! he couldn’t go karting in europe because it was too expensive (didn’t go to australia either if i’m not mistaken?), and you know… it’s different from following your dad to his races and hanging out in the paddock when you’re a kid and so on. like you say, races are hella hella expensive, esp if you live so far away and have to fly long hours to every race, so this is probably a really cute thing for them 🥺🥺🥺
